BOSTON, Mass. — Three Massachusetts kitchens designed by Arclinea Boston have been named winners in recent design contests. The kitchens, in Cambridge, Lincoln, and Chestnut Hill, demonstrate Arclinea’s commitment to superior functionality and meticulous design, customized in each case to meet individual client needs and to complement adjacent living areas and the architecture of the larger home.

“At Arclinea, we’re dedicated to making the heart of the home the best it can possibly be-fully professional, beautifully designed, and inviting. But most important, we recognize that these qualities mean something different for every homeowner and each home, and that a successful kitchen design is one that’s been thoughtfully customized,” says Arclinea Boston president Philip Guarino.

The Lincoln kitchen-celebrated in the contemporary category in Boston Magazine’s Home & Garden’s first annual kitchen design contest-will be featured in the magazine’s summer issue, on area newsstands June 13.

“We were looking for kitchens that are both inspiring and personal,” says Boston Magazine’s Home & Garden executive editor Emily McManus, “kitchens that our judges could imagine themselves cooking in-and that could inspire our readers in their own kitchens.”

The Chestnut Hill kitchen was a regional winner in the 2004/5 Sub-Zero/Wolf Kitchen Design Contest. It was designed to accommodate the specific needs of the homeowner, who is passionate about baking and cooking. She had requested that those activities be central to the renovation of her kitchen.

“Working with Arclinea to design our kitchen was a terrific experience,” says the homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous. “In my view, the end result is a perfect blending of function and beauty.”

“There were nearly 1,050 entries in this year’s contest,” says James J. Bakke, president and CEO of Sub-Zero/Wolf. “The selection of this kitchen is in recognition of excellent design work.”

At the 2005 Luxury Living Awards, an Arclinea kitchen in Arlington, MA, was named Best in Show. This year, Arclinea Boston was part of the team winning the 2006 Platinum Award in the Most Beautiful Custom Home category. Arclinea Boston designed the kitchen for the Cambridge home, while Elizabeth A. Gibb, Architect, directed the overall project.

Arclinea Boston is the first flagship showroom in the United States for Arclinea-an industry leader in the manufacturing of luxury, contemporary kitchens, designed and coordinated by the acclaimed Italian architect Antonio Citterio. Arclinea kitchens are differentiated by their innovative design, creative technology and exquisite materials. The Boston showroom showcases examples of the entire Arclinea Collection, and offers consumers a full-service, turnkey solution to their kitchen design process.
