EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — 80 boys from the Link Community School, Newark, will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to mentor with members of the NY Giants at the 2007 YOUTH FOOTBALL EXPERIENCE, Tuesday, April 10, 2007. The event, sponsored by Athletes in Action, here, and Trinity Financial Sports and Entertainment Management Company, Manasquan, NJ, will take place in the “Giants Bubble” next to Giants Stadium.

Designed to build the boys’ confidence, football skills and character, the day will feature an afternoon of football instruction and life-changing motivational messages from players, followed by a barbecue hosted by the Giants.

According to Peter Grandich, who formed Trinity Financial several years ago with two-time SuperBowl-winning NY Giant Lee Rouson, “The boys will be schooled in football skills by the players, and also hear motivational messages on a variety of off-the-field subjects such as setting goals, choosing friends carefully, and the importance of not quitting.”

“While the football demonstrations help build their physical skills, the real life stories and inspiration shared by the players is the touchdown,” says George McGovern of Athletes in Action, who is also the NY Giants chapel leader. “I’m hopeful the schedule will permit players like Eli Manning, Shaun O’Hara, David Tyree, Michael Strahan, Tim Hasselback, Jeff Feagles, Plaxico Burress, Tim Carter, Brandon Jacobs, Michael Jennings, Jarad Lorenzen, Sinorice Moss, Antonio Pierce, Reggie Torbor, Osi Umenyiora and others to participate,” he adds.

There is also a unique opportunity for a limited number of corporate sponsors and their guests to stand side-by-side with the Giants players, and then meet, greet, take pictures and have sports memorabilia signed by the players. The day will cap off with a meet and greet session and barbecue hosted by the New York Giants.

The Link Community School was founded in 1969 by the Sisters of St. Dominic in response to the Newark riots and the resulting devastation. The non-denominational independent middle school was provides an exceptional educational opportunity for young people left in poverty.

Athletes in Action is a non-profit organization that gives professional athletes the opportunity to share life experiences with audiences of all ages. This NY/ NJ chapter serves the NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Nets and NY Jets, as well as semi-pro and collegiate teams.

Trinity Financial Sports & Entertainment Management Company offers a variety of services to individuals and businesses, with specialized services for professional athletes. The company is located at 2431 Atlantic Avenue, Manasquan, NJ. For information contact Grandich at 732-642-3992.
