WOODBRIDGE, Conn. — The IRS, by court decree, owes American businesses over $10 Billion dollars (an equal amount is due to individuals). Refunds for Good Inc and Invoice Insight LLC, have created a free, online tool to help organizations, both for-profit and non-profit, get their money back in a timely manner (www.refundsforgood.org/business_refund.php).

The new website offers a free calculator which automatically fills out form 8913 using the IRS “Estimation Method.” It prints the data onto the form automatically.

For some companies, the IRS Estimation Method may not be sufficient. Refunds for Good has partnered with Invoice Insight, one of the top-ranked telecom expense management companies in the country, to take it from there. Invoice Insight could save your business 20% or more going forward by doing an audit of your current telecom expenses. The cost of the service is more than paid for with the savings.

“The IRS hasn’t made it easy to collect this money. The process is complicated and the 8913 form is not the easiest to complete,” says Refunds for Good co-founder Michael Swartz. “Together, with Invoice Insight, we’ve created a user-friendly tool, which only takes a few minutes to fill out.”

Your businesses could be owed tens of thousands of dollars depending on a number of variables, including, your total monthly telephone expense, the type of service and the amount of wireless phone usage.

The IRS originally began collecting the excise tax on telephone service in 1898 in order to fund the Spanish-American War. In May 2006, following several federal court decisions, the IRS decided to stop assessing the tax on most service. This tax year, the IRS must refund with interest the monies collected over a recent 41-month period.

In addition to helping businesses get their refund money back, refundsforgood.org also educates visitors about three U.S. non-profits, which are working to address different global issues. It is hoped that companies will return the favor and consider supporting the worthwhile non-profits on the website.

* PeaceJam Foundation works with Nobel Peace Laureates from around the globe to nurture a new generation of young leaders committed to positive change in themselves and the world through peace-making service projects in their local communities.

* Solar Electric Light Fund brings solar power and modern communications to rural villages in the developing world for enhancements in health, education, and economic well-being.

* Physicians for Social Responsibility is the medical and public health voice for policies to stop nuclear war and proliferation and to slow, stop and reverse global warming and toxic degradation of the environment.

Taxpayers can use the secure, on-line form at http://www.refundsforgood.org to make a direct donation of any amount to one or more of the three non-profits. In return, donors may select from several handsome thank-you gifts. In addition, all donations are tax deductible.
