ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Write Away, Inc., a full-service editorial company, announces today that a 20-plus year chef and culinary professional joins their creative team to meet the growing demands of businesses pertaining to the food industry. The company specializes in writing about the food and beverage industry, so adding a food professional to the staff was a natural next step in moving the company to the next level.

Bryan Sullivan, Executive Vice President of Write Away, Inc., brings more than 20 years of experience to the table. He has worked in New York, N.Y.; Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.; Naples, Fla.; and Asheville, N.C. in an array of positions ranging from Executive Chef and Catering Director to Produce Manager at a large, well-known gourmet supermarket chain. In addition, before moving to the Asheville area, he owned and operated an exclusive catering company in Naples.

During the course of his career, he has been trained in food safety, handling, preparation and much more. Currently, day-to-day responsibilities will include: food-description writing, restaurant reviews, writing about produce-merchandising issues, and providing food lectures on topics such as: sustainable agricultural, food safety, HACCP, restaurant management, menu design, fair trade, cultivating mushrooms, and other food and beverage-related topics.

Bryan Sullivan “Food is such a huge thing today,” Sullivan said. “More and more people want to know where their food comes from, how to handle it, and more importantly, what’s in it. Recent food scares such as the spinach recall, and even pet food recalls, have contributed to this new awakening.”

Organic was a buzz word once reserved for the elite or the extreme food-conscious folks; it has quickly made its way into daily vocabulary and is popping up all over the media. Top-selling books such as “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” and “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” only add to the proof that food is “hot.”

“Being on staff as a food expert adds to our editorial credibility,” Sullivan said. “Clients trust us to deliver accurate, interesting and current information on food and beverage-related products. I am very excited to be on board.”
