I am delighted by the detailed story on the upcoming concert of Sphinx Laureates at Carnegie Hall. For several years Aaron P. Dworkin has been honored in the Musicians of African Descent section of my website. The website is devoted to African Heritage in Classical Music. It profiles 52 composers and musicians of African descent from Africa. Europe and the Americas. Over 100 audio samples can be heard at the site. A companion blog, was launched in July, 2007 with the post "Black Composer In Polka Dots", on demeaning cover art on a recording of violin concertos of Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges, released in June by Calliope. AfriClassical Blog is focused on the continuing neglect of the rich repertoire of classical music by Black composers. Numerous school districts and state departments of Education have adopted the website as a resource for Black History Month and for the entire school year. The Sphinx Organization is doing far more than any other group to diversify classical music through education and support of talented American string students of color.
