HONOLULU, Hawaii — According to Travel Hawaii LLC, major Waikiki hotels are offering Ocean Front rooms at bargain-basement rates in order to attract reluctant buyers. “The ultimate Hawaii deal right now” according to John Lindelow, owner of Travel Hawaii, “is at the Sheraton Waikiki (http://Travel-Hawaii.com/Sheraton_Waikiki_Resort.html) where Ocean Front rooms are going for around $206/night.” So you can look out from your room and see all of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, and the new pool between the Sheraton and Royal Hawaiian.

Given that winter is normally the busiest and most expensive season in Waikiki, added Lindelow, such rates are “historically amazing.”

Down the beach at the Outrigger Waikiki (http://Travel-Hawaii.com/Outrigger_Waikiki_on_the_Beach.html), three nights in an ocean front room will cost $954 ($318/night), and includes breakfast for two each day. This rate is based on a 3rd Night Free, a discounting scheme that has been adopted by 33 Hawaii hotels this year so far and has become the ‘new norm’ in Hawaii hotel pricing. “The joke among the hoteliers is that they’ve only got one step left — 2nd Night Free,” said Lindelow.

Even cheaper ocean front is available at Waikiki hotels that are actually just across Kalakaua Avenue from Waikiki, but call their rooms ocean front anyway. For example, the Aston Waikiki Circle at $156/night and the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel at $255/night. And at Waikiki’s largest hotel, the Hilton Hawaiian (http://Travel-Hawaii.com/Hilton_Hawaiian_Village.html), a Deluxe Ocean Front Room in the Rainbow Tower will cost just under $320/night.

Such deals are easy to find, says Lindelow, by using Travel Hawaii’s “Hotel Finder” found on every web page at http://Travel-Hawaii.com. “We’re starting to call it the ‘Waikiki Hotel Deal Finder’ now since there’s so many great deals now,” said Lindelow. “Just plug in Waikiki and your dates and find the bargains.”

All of Travel Hawaii’s rates include all hotel taxes (12-percent).
