Illinois’ Affinity Healthcare LLC Announces New Physicians
BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. — Affinity Healthcare LLC, a multi-specialty medical group practice with northwest Chicago suburban offices located in Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove, IL, is pleased to announce the addition of four physicians to the practice:
Maria L. Savitt, MD, Internal Medicine — Dr. Savitt earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, University of Texas, Arlington, TX, 1986. Her Doctor of Medicine degree was awarded in 1990 from the University of Illinois Medical School, Rockford, IL. She performed her Internal Medicine residency at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL, 1990-1993. Dr. Savitt is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. She is fluent in Spanish and German. Dr. Savitt will be treating Internal Medicine patients (ages 14 and older) at Affinity Healthcare’s 1450 Busch Parkway, Buffalo Grove, IL, and at the Immediate Care center at the same address.
Michael J. Hersh, MD, Gastroenterology — Dr. Hersh earned his Bachelor of Arts, Chemistry, with Distinction in All Subjects, from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences, 1999.He was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree from State of University of New York at Stony Brook, School of Medicine, 2003. Dr. Hersh completed his Internal Medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, 2003-2006. Dr. Hersh received certification as Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine, 2006. Dr. Hersh will see patients at Affinity Healthcare’s 1450 Busch Parkway, Buffalo Grove, IL office.
Mark J. Stefaniuk, MD, Family Practice – Board Certified in Family Practice, Dr. Stefaniuk earned his Bachelor of Science, Kinesiology, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 1994, and his Doctor of Medicine, Saba University School of Medicine, Saba, Netherlands, Antilles, 2000. He completed his Family Medicine Residency, at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC in 2003. He will treat Family Care patients (pediatric through adult) by appointment at Affinity Healthcare’s 1051 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL office, and patients 14 years and older at Affinity Healthcare’s walk-in Immediate Care Center at that same location. Dr. Stefaniuk is fluent in Ukrainian with moderate Spanish.
Heidi Wehlus, MD, Internal Medicine — Dr. Wehlus earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, 2001. Her Doctor of Medicine degree was awarded in 2006 from the University of Illinois, Chicago College of Medicine. She performed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago, 2006-2009. Dr. Wehlus will see Internal Medicine patients (ages 14 and older) by appointment at Affinity Healthcare’s 1450 Busch Parkway, Buffalo Grove, IL office, and walk-in patients at Affinity Healthcare’s Immediate Care Center at that same location.
