COSTA MESA, Calif. — Renaissance Surgical Arts at Newport Harbor, a new multi-specialty outpatient surgery center committed to setting a new standard of care in South Orange County, has named Sid Kamali, M.D., as director of anesthesia. Dr. Kamali is a board certified anesthesiologist. In his role at Renaissance at Newport Harbor, Dr. Kamali will lead a team of anesthesiologists who are top in their field and can deliver care consistent with the center’s patient-focused approach. He will also work with staff to oversee the center’s advanced anesthesia systems and protocol, which includes best-in-class sterilization and patient comfort delivered through boutique level care of patients.

The patient monitoring of vitals, anesthesia delivery systems and patient warming combine with the other patient-friendly attributes of the Center to ensure the best patient care possible. These processes protect patients and create efficiencies at the center which, while enhancing the profits of operations drastically, create a workplace for staff, physicians and the patients they care for that is unparalleled in the industry.

“Dr. Kamali has the perfect combination of training and experience with a vision for delivering anesthesia care that is consistent with our goal to redefine the patient experience,” said Bruce Wallace, CEO of Congero Development and manager of Renaissance Surgical Arts at Newport Harbor. “Together we are building a team of extraordinary anesthesiologists to support our surgeons and ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.”

A Southern California native, Dr. Kamali completed his undergraduate studies at University of California, Irvine, then earned his doctorate at Ross University School of Medicine. He trained in general surgery at Mercer University in Savannah, Ga., and completed anesthesia training at Harvard Medical School where he was chief resident.

Dr. Kamali’s expertise is across all surgical specialties and a wide range of anesthesia care including Cardiac, Pediatrics, Reconstructive, Orthopedics, Neuro, Vascular and ENT through his work at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, Calif. In his own practice, Dr. Kamali has provided care for the communities of Orange County and is focused on the Newport Beach area. Dr. Kamali has served as past director of anesthesia at the Newport Beach Surgery Center located in the Newport Lido Medical Center.

“Anesthesia is the consistent variable in every surgery and plays a significant role in the impact on patient comfort, outcomes and recovery time,” said Dr. Kamali. “While anesthesia is the life-sustaining aspect of patient care, we strive to make it the least recognized by the general public. The ultimate goal in the performance of our job is to be transparent to the patient experience. I am excited to be leading the team of talented anesthesiologists at Renaissance at Newport Harbor and look forward to working with the management, surgeons and staff to deliver seamless patient care.”
