PANAMA CITY, Panama — Ravi Singh, the CEO of ElectionMall Technologies, will be speaking on “The Wide Swath” panel at the annual IAPC conference. The IAPC, or the International Association of Political Consultants, is an organization of professionals in the political sphere, dedicated to helping spread democracy throughout the world. Their main event is an annual conference, where many gather to discuss upcoming world elections and deconstruct recent trends in the political cycle.

The location of Panama for this year’s annual conference reflects the country’s strides to make the democratic process more accessible to its inhabitants. About 13 percent of the country’s population currently uses the internet regularly, a number that is five times the average in 2000.

Currently, the president of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli, is attempting to execute his plan to bring free internet to even the most rural areas. This plan has been coined “Internet for All Initiative” and has already begun being implemented in some areas. Ravi Singh states, “It’s beyond inspiring that this great country is making internet free. Governments need internet to help with transparency, and this initiative will go a long way to helping keep the people involved in all discussions.”
