Ca. Gov. Schwarzenegger Appoints William Johnson to San Joaquin County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO /California Newswire/ — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today announced the appointment of William D. Johnson to a judgeship in the San Joaquin County Superior Court. Johnson, 61, of Stockton, has been a staff attorney for McGeorge School of Law, California Parole Advocacy Program since September 2009 and a sole practitioner since 2000.

Previously, he was an attorney for Diehl, Steinheimer, Riggio, Haydel and Mordaunt from 1984 to 2000 and a deputy public defender for the San Joaquin County Public Defender’s Office from 1977 to 1984. Johnson earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Seattle University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Clark F. Sueyres. Johnson is a Democrat.

The compensation for this position is $178,789.
