SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., /eNewsChannels/ — The Board of Directors of Christian Leadership Alliance (CLA) has named Mrs. Tami Heim as CLAs new president and CEO. She will begin in this role on Jan. 1, 2012.

“We are pleased to announce that Tami Heim is the new president and CEO of Christian Leadership Alliance,” said CLA Board Chairman, John C. Reynolds. “Tami Heim is a visionary with a deep understanding of the trends and opportunities facing Christian nonprofit ministries today. She brings a wealth of proven experience to this role, and has the ideal skill-set and knowledge to lead CLA wisely into the future. We’re thrilled to have her serve as CLAs new president and CEO starting in January 2012.”

Heim brings extensive leadership experience to this role including her service as president of Borders Inc., and as executive vice president and chief publishing officer of Thomas Nelson Inc. She has also served as a consultant to NavPress, Zondervan and other Christian publishers. Presently, Heim serves as a partner and brand strategist with The A Group Brand Development in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Service on nonprofit boards is integral to Heim’s experience as well. She serves on boards such as Lead Like Jesus, EQUIP, Growing Leaders, Christian Women in Media Association and more. She has been a guest lecturer at universities such as Harvard, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Colorado, and Albion College. Heim has also appeared on Fox News, MSNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, The Today Show, NPR, and other national media programs. In 2010, she and Toni Birdsong co-authored “@StickyJesus: How to Live Out Your Faith Online” (Digital Scribe Press).

Tami and her husband Dale are loving parents of a married daughter, Zoe, who is expecting their first grandchild. She and Dale are deeply involved in the life of their local church, including an initiative close to Tami’s heart; leading mission trips to Jeremie, Haiti to minister to orphans and to teach, disciple, and develop them as Christ-centered leaders.

“Tami Heim’s professional background is noteworthy, but to the CLA board her most important asset is her deep commitment to Christ and her vision for advancing CLA’s goal of training, developing, and investing in individuals, teams and organizations that are furthering God’s kingdom purposes in our world,” said Reynolds.

Mark L. Vincent, who graciously stepped down from the CLA Board to serve as CLAs acting president and CEO will continue in that role until the end of 2011. In 2012 he will re-join the CLA Board of Directors. “The CLA Board also extends a heartfelt thanks to Mark L. Vincent for the outstanding job he has done as CLA’s acting president and CEO,” said Reynolds. “He has led this organization with excellence throughout this transition, and we are pleased that he is rejoining the CLA board in 2012 where he will continue to provide wise spiritual leadership for CLA.”

CLA will feature more on the organization’s new president and CEO in the Spring 2012 edition of CLAs national magazine Outcomes, as well as in CLA’s electronic newsletter OutcomesONLINE. Heim will also be introduced, and will speak, at the 2012 CLA National Conference in Orlando, April 10 – 12, 2012.
