Calif. Gov. Brown Appoints Shelyna V. Brown to Santa Clara County Superior Court
SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. on Tuesday announced the appointment of Shelyna V. Brown to a judgeship in the Santa Clara County Superior Court.
Brown, 41, of San Jose, has served as an attorney in the Santa Clara County Public Defender’s Office since 1997. She earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis.
She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Eugene M. Hyman. Brown is a Democrat.
The compensation for this position is $178,789.
