SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments: First, Jack Hall, 55, of Fresno, has been appointed to the Mendota Designated Local Authority. Hall has been director of government affairs at Comcast since 2010. He served as statewide political director at the California Faculty Association from 2006 to 2007, district director for the Office of Congressman Jim Costa in 2005, Central Valley director for the Office of Governor Gray Davis from 2000 to 2003 and accounting technician at the State Center Community College District from 1994 to 2000.

Hall was appointed to the Big Fresno Fair by Governor Gray Davis, where he served as a member from 2003 to 2007 and as board president in 2005. He is a member of the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust, Tree Fresno, Arte Americas Museum, Friends of the Big Fresno Fair and the Stanislaus Literacy Center. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Hall is a Democrat.

Craig Mellon, 45, of Fowler, has been appointed to the Mendota Designated Local Authority. Mellon has been the owner of Music Spectrum Entertainment since 1992 and the president and chief executive officer of the Fowler Chamber of Commerce since 2008. He was radio talent and marketing coordinator at Radio Disney from 2001 to 2010 and marketing director at the Fresno Chaffe Zoo from 1999 to 2002. Mellon is chair of the Recreation Commission and vice chair of the Planning Commission for the City of Fowler. He is a member of the Lion’s Club and the American Legion. Bert Partida, 39, of Oxnard, has been appointed to the Ventura Designated Local Authority. Partida has been an attorney at Haffner Haffner and Kirwin LLP since 2009. He was an attorney at the Law Offices of Geordan Goebel from 2007 to 2009. Partida worked at LGS Architects Inc. from 2004 to 2007, serving as corporate counsel from 2006 to 2007 and as administrator from 2004 to 2006. He was a store manager at Levitz Furniture from 1992 to 2004. Partida is a member of the California State University, Channel Islands Alumni Association and the Ventura Teen Legal Clinic. He served on the Ventura County Community College District Measure S Bond Citizens Oversight Committee from 2007 to 2011. Partida earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the Ventura College of Law. Erasmo Viveros, 30, of Los Banos, has been appointed to the Los Banos Designated Local Authority. Viveros served as legislative assistant to Assemblymember Cathleen Galgiani from 2009 to 2011. He served on the planning commission for the City of Los Banos from 2008 to 2011 and was chair in 2011. Viveros has been a voting member and representative of the supervisorial district of Los Banos on the Merced County Democratic Center Committee since 2009 and is a member of the Elks Lodge. Raymond Lau, 68, of Banning, has been appointed administrator at the Veterans Home of California, Barstow. Lau was administrator at Century Skilled Nursing Care from 2009 to 2012 and served as administrator at Plymouth Tower from 2006 to 2009. He was administrator at Beverly Manor of Bakersfield from 2005 to 2006 and administrator at Golden Cross Healthcare of Fresno in 2005. Lau was executive director at Country Villa Redlands Healthcare from 2002 to 2004. He was a real estate agent for Pat Rutherford and Associates from 1979 to 2002. Lau earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of LaVerne. Karmdeep Bains, 38, of Yuba City, has been appointed to the 13th District Agricultural Association, Yuba-Sutter Fair Board. Bains has owned and operated Karm S.
