SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Calif. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. on Thursday announced the following appointments: First, David Dias, 51, of Napa, has been appointed to the Contractors State License Board, where he has served since 2011. Dias has been a business representative for Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 104 since 2005.

Dias was an apprentice instructor at Foothill Community College from 1998 to 2005 and a field supervisor at Therma Inc. from 1997 to 2005. Dias was a sheet metal worker foreman at RH Tinney from 1990 to 1997, where he served as an apprentice from 1986 to 1990. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Dias is a Democrat.

Eric Holm, 47, of San Rafael, has been appointed to the California State Board of Guide Dogs for the Blind, where he has served as president since 2010. Holm was an adjudications officer at the Department of Homeland Security from 1997 to 2004 and district adjudications officer at the U.S. Department of Justice from 1995 to 1997. He was a paralegal at Bostwick and Tehin from 1988 to 1990 and a property acquisition manager at Trinity Properties from 1987 to 1988. Holm was a research analyst at Indio Properties from 1985 to 1986. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Holm is a Democrat.

Cliff Utley, 60, of Yucaipa, has been appointed to the Structural Pest Control Board, where he has served since 2006. Utley has been president of Cliff’s Pest Control since 2001 and has worked there since 1993. He was a sheet metal worker at the Santa Fe Railroad from 1972 to 1993. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Utley is a Republican.

Thomas Kendall, 66, of Carmichael, has been appointed to the California Veterinary Medical Board, where he has served since ¬¬¬¬2008. Kendall has served as hospital director and veterinarian at Arden Animal Hospital since 1973 and co-owner of Veterinary Associates of Northern California since 1987. He has been co-owner of Kendall and Wolfson Enterprises Inc. and owner of Kendall and Wolfson Properties since 2001. Kendall was owner and veterinarian for Amador Veterinary Hospital from 1971 to 1973 and associate small animal veterinarian at Broadway Pet Clinic from 1969 to 1971. He earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Kendall is a Democrat.

Richard Sullivan, 64, of Palos Verdes, has been appointed to the California Veterinary Medical Board. Sullivan has been the owner and managing doctor of Bay Cities Pet Hospital since 1975. He served in the Peace Corps from 1972 to 1974. Sullivan earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Sullivan is a Democrat.

Cheryl Waterhouse, 50, of Fresno, has been appointed to the California Veterinary Medical Board. Waterhouse has been the president and chief of staff of Waterhouse Animal Hospital since 1995. She was an associate veterinarian at Sierra View Animal Hospital from 1992 to 1995, Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital from 1988 to 1991, Altoona Veterinary Hospital from 1984 to 1987 and Animal Medical Center of Merle Hay from 1981 to 1984. Waterhouse earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Waterhouse is a Democrat.

Timothy “Casey” Cummings, 47, of Rocklin, has been appointed to the 20th District Agricultural Association, Gold Country Fair Board, where he has served since 2006. Cummings has been an independent apparel sales representative at Expert Performance T since 2010, Landway Fleece since 2008 and Pacific Headwear since 2007. He was director of sales at Campbell’s Interiors from 2006 to 2007 and vice president of sales and marketing for OFM Imaging from 2005 to 2006. Cummings was director of sales for Hunter Douglas Window Fashions from 2003 to 2005 and director of sales at Levolor-Kirsch from 1998 to 2002. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Cummings is registered decline-to-state.

Earlene Freeman, 55, of Auburn, has been appointed to the 20th District Agricultural Association, Gold Country Fair Board. Freeman has been retail manager at Eisley Nursery since 1990, where she has worked in multiple positions since 1982. Freeman is a member of the Master Nursery Garden Centers, Placer High School Music Boosters, Order of the Eastern Star and International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Freeman is a Republican.

June Reeves, 71, of Lincoln, has been appointed to the 20th District Agricultural Association, Gold Country Fair Board. Reeves was legislative coordinator at Green and Azevedo from 1985 to 2007 and office manager at Blackmon Isenberg Moulds Blicker Wasserman Samuel and Rodda from 1969 to 1984. She is a member of the Lincoln Archives and Lincoln Women’s Club. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Reeves is a Democrat.

Lucas Parnell, 31, of Auburn, has been appointed to the 20th District Agricultural Association, Gold Country Fair Board, where he has served since 2007. Parnell has been vice president, manager and commercial loan officer at Community 1st Bank and owner and chief financial officer of Parnell Dickinson Inc. since 2007. He was a commercial banking officer at Comerica Bank from 2004 to 2007. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Parnell is a Republican.

David Isom, 48, of Fairfield, has been appointed to the 36th District Agricultural Association, Dixon May Fair Board. Isom has been senior pastor at St. Stephen Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Fairfield since 2007. He was senior pastor at Christian Methodist Episcopal Churches in Washington from 2002 to 2007, Missouri from 2000 to 2002, Kansas from 1998 to 2000 and Texas from 1994 to 1998. Isom has served on the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District Board of Trustees since 2010.
