Calif. Governor Brown Announces Appointments to Merced Designated Local Authority for June 28, 2012

SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments: First, Michael Amabile, 57, of Los Banos, has been appointed to the Merced Designated Local Authority. Amabile has been the owner and manager of España’s Southwest Bar and Grill since 1978. He served as mayor of Los Banos from 1994 to 2006.

Amabile was a board member for the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley in 2006. This position does not require Senate confirmation. Amabile is a Republican.

Peter Cannon Michael, 40, of Los Banos, has been appointed to the Merced Designated Local Authority. Michael has been the vice president at the Bowles Farming Company since 1998. He was a leasing agent at Pattillo Industrial Real Estate from 1996 to 1998. Michael is a board member for the San Luis Canal Company and the California Tomato Research Institute.

He is the chairman of the California Cotton Ginners and Growers Association and president of the Coastal San Luis Resource Conservation District. This position does not require Senate confirmation. Michael is a Republican.
