California Workforce Investment BoardSAN BERNARDINO, Calif. /eNewsChannels/ — The San Bernardino County Workforce Investment Board announced that Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. appointed two of its members to the California Workforce Investment Board. They are Michael Gallo, 54 of San Bernardino and Joseph Williams, 36, of Redlands.

“Mike Gallo and Joseph Williams have been instrumental in our county Workforce Investment Board’s success,” said Josie Gonzales, San Bernardino County Chair and Fifth District Supervisor. “They both bring creativity and business acumen to the board, which is most effective in helping employers as well as job seekers through the economic recovery. I am very excited to see that their talents and wisdom will also move California’s economy in the right direction.”

Gallo is Vice President of the San Bernardino City Unified School District Board of Education and serves as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee on the San Bernardino County Workforce Investment Board. He was also the founding Chief Executive Officer of Technical Employment Training, Inc. as well as the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Kelly Space and Technology.

Williams has been Chief Executive Officer at Youth Action Project since 2007. He was a Re-Entry Coordinator and Employment Service Specialist at the County of San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office from 2004 to 2007 and was an Employment Service Specialist at the County of San Bernardino Workforce Development Department from 2003 to 2004. Williams was an Employment Service Analyst at the County of San Bernardino Workforce Investment Business Resource Office from 2002 to 2003.

“The California Workforce Investment Board will advise the Governor on jobs and workforce development,” said Sandy Harmsen, executive director of the San Bernardino County Workforce Investment Board. “Mike and Joseph have the practical experience and the insight to make California a vital place for businesses as well as the workforce.”
