U.S. Department of StateWASHINGTON, D.C. /eNewsChannels/ — Interim Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Ambassador Mike Kozak will host a screening of the documentary “Holocaust by Bullets,” Monday, January 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the George C. Marshall Conference Center East Auditorium at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.

This event will mark the United Nations International Day of Commemoration for Victims of the Holocaust (Shoah). The film describes the genocide perpetrated in the former Soviet Union against Jews, Roma, and other victims of the Nazis between 1941 and 1944.

Following the film, Special Envoy on Holocaust Issues Douglas Davidson, will moderate a panel discussion of distinguished experts.

The panel includes Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Maria Otero; Father Patrick Desbois of the organization Yahad-In Unum, whose work focuses on uncovering unmarked mass graves in Eastern Europe from World War II; Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of International Organization Affairs Victoria Holt; Director of Visiting Scholar Programs at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Dr. Suzanne Brown-Fleming; and Special Assistant to the Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Julia Fromholz. The panel will also take questions from the audience.
