Calif. Governor BrownSACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — On Monday, Calif. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced the following appointments: first, Ross Lai, 53, of San Francisco, has been appointed to the Dental Board of California. Lai has been the owner of Ross Carlton Lai DDS since 1985, director at Lai Enterprises Inc. since 2005 and founder at LAI Dental Group since 2011.

Lai was a prosthetic assistant of implant dentistry at the Highland Hospital Alameda County Medical Center from 2006 to 2008. Lai earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Lai is registered decline-to-state.

Eric Lamoureux, 43, of Placerville, has been appointed deputy director of the office of public affairs at the California Department of General Services, where he has served since 2010. Lamoureux was manager of media relations at the California Department of General Services from 2007 to 2010, chief of the office of public information at the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services from 1999 to 2007 and public information officer at the California Integrated Waste Management Board from 1993 to 1999. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $92,004. Lamoureux is registered decline-to-state.

Mari Cantwell, 36, of Sacramento, has been appointed chief deputy director of health care programs at the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). Cantwell has been deputy director of health care financing at DHCS since 2011. She was vice president of finance policy at the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems from 2005 to 2011 and a statistician and analyst at Fairbank Maslin Maullin and Associates from 2003 to 2005. Cantwell was a research associate and project manager at the University of California, Los Angeles Center for Health Policy Research from 2001 to 2003 and a research analyst at the Milken Institute from 2000 to 2001. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $138,528. Cantwell is registered decline-to-state.
