Assemblymember Al MuratsuchiTORRANCE, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Today, Calif. Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi congratulated schools on successful applications. The State Allocation Board has approved nearly $2 million in grant funding for four school construction projects in the 66th Assembly District. The projects are shovel-ready and include facility improvements to modernize the campuses, improve security, address accessibility shortcomings or provide upgrades to current fire and safety codes.

The schools receiving the grants are:

* Walteria Elementary in Torrance
* Magruder Middle School in Torrance
* Crestwood Street Elementary in Rancho Palos Verdes
* Fleming Middle School in Lomita.

“I’m glad the State Allocation Board’s actions will allow local school construction projects to proceed,” stated Muratsuchi, “Congratulations to the schools in District 66 that will now have the funds to beautify their campus and provide an environment where students will continue to feel safe and eager to learn.”
