Secretary of State John KerryWASHINGTON, D.C. /eNewsChannels/ — NEWS: The U.S. Department of State today announced the start of the 2014 Global Partnerships Week (GP3) that will run from March 24 to 30, 2014. GP3, which is led by Secretary Kerry’s Office of Global Partnerships in collaboration with its partners, including the Concordia Summit and .CO Internet, is a celebration in recognition of the critical role public-private partnerships play in promoting diplomacy and development around the world.

GP3 activities and events will serve to encourage the type of creative collaboration needed to tackle global challenges while promoting new ideas and recognizing the achievements of existing partnerships.

Global Partnerships Week recognizes public-private partnership practitioners who strive to tackle major global challenges through market and mission-driven partnerships. During one week each March, GP3 inspires public and private organizations everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as shared value collaborators. These activities, from large-scale events to intimate networking gatherings, connect governments, companies, civil society organizations, faith based organizations, diaspora communities, and academic institutions to potential partners, supporters and solutions providers—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.
