eNewsChannels: VA Pacific Islands Health Care System

HONOLULU, Hawaii /eNewsChannels/ — NEWS: Phoenix-based TriWest Healthcare Alliance announced today the company’s expansion in Honolulu. TriWest partners with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in administering the VA Patient-Centered Community Care Program (VAPC3) and the Veterans Choice Card benefit.

TriWest’s presence in Honolulu includes a customer contact center which brings more than 50 full-time jobs to the area and TriWest is looking to hire as many Veterans as possible. “TriWest is committed to hiring Veterans and we are excited to bring new jobs to Honolulu,” said David J. McIntyre, Jr., TriWest’s President & CEO. “I can think of no better qualification to help us serve those who served than hiring those who themselves are Veterans.”

The Honolulu Call Center team will help serve Veterans in 28 states in partnership with VA. Key functions of TriWest’s Honolulu Contact Center will be processing health care authorizations approved by VA, inbound and outbound telephone correspondence with Veterans and network health care providers, as well as scheduling appointments by phone for VAPC3 and the Veterans Choice Card benefit.

TriWest has also established a team to work directly and collaboratively with the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System and our civilian network health care providers to help ensure timely access to quality care for Veterans.

TriWest’s Pacific Regional Director Karl Kiyokawa says Veterans in Hawaii and the Pacific have unique needs due to the geography and location. “The Hawaii TriWest team will be positioned to provide focused support and local knowledge,” said Kiyokawa. “We are looking forward to working with the VA Pacific Islands Health Care team to best serve these Veterans.”

TriWest’s dedicated staff — with both military and business experience — brings together the best of the military and business worlds to ensure optimal organizational excellence.
