SACRAMENTO, Calif. — There are times when a team transcends the game and steps over the boundaries of the sports pages and into the consciousness of a nation. It could be argued that the Chicago Bulls during the mid 1990′s was such a team – so well known that even people who never opened an issue of Sports Illustrated could name the starting lineup. The “repeat the three-peat” wins of the NBA finals of ’96, ’97, and ’98 created a cadre of basketball superstars and characters and set the bar at a new high for the next generation of players.

Now a little piece of that victory is up on the auction block. In a testament to the far reach of the recession, former Bulls guard and assistant coach to the Sacramento Kings, Randy Brown, has declared bankruptcy, and his three championship rings will be for sale to the highest bidder via online auction at WestAuction.com.

The Chicago Bulls of the mid ’90s has been considered one of the best teams ever to set foot on a court, and Brown’s role – both as guard and as a team player – was integral. Brown, who made a name for himself in Sacramento as a solid and hard-working assistant coach to the Kings, was well liked by players and fans alike. His focus and ability to help players get the most out of their training was a mainstay during the team’s recent trouble and instability.

Yet these hard financial times have impacted everyone, and Brown is no exception. “It’s a tough situation,” says Dennis West, of West Auctions, the company charged with auctioning the rings. “Randy seems like a really good guy, and he was a great player. However, these are tough times for a lot of people from a variety of backgrounds. People are making difficult financial decisions, and for some that means bankruptcy.” With bankruptcy rates rising rapidly across the nation, you can expect many more auctions in the future.

Brown’s three championship rings are expected to hit the auction block at WestAuction.com on May 19. The bid will start at $19,000 – a bargain in the world of sports collectables.

BOISE, Idaho — Heavy Equipment Auctioneers announced today their large semi-annual trucks, tools and equipment auction for Southwest Idaho. AJ Armstrong, a partner in the firm stated, “We are excited to continue to offer an efficient marketplace to turn idle assets into productive capital. This live auction allows the hard working people that build and maintain our homes, businesses, roads and machines a way to both buy and sell the tools they need to get their important jobs accomplished. These fine folks create great value in our economy and this allows their tools to trade hands and remain productive.”

He added, “These events generally consist of dozens of sellers and hundreds of buyers in attendance. It is always an exciting and productive day for all involved. This particular auction will consist of everything from hand held power tools to large earth movers. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate our team’s seventeenth year and 1,200th auction.”

The auction is being held and co-sponsored by Young’s Equipment Sales in Nampa Idaho, just behind Lowes at 1502 W Karcher Road. The auction crew is there daily accepting consignments, building catalogs for the live auction and worldwide online bidding platform as well as preparing the merchandise for auction day.

The auction will take place on Thursday, September 25 and begin at 10 a.m.

More information can be found at http://www.HEAuction.com or by contacting the auction crew at 208.454.2910.

MIAMI, Fla. — The team at BidaBing.com announces the launch of a new real estate auctioning application and nicknames their agent members “BidaBingers.” REALTORS(R), buyers, lenders and sellers are all invited to list and bid on foreclosures, short sales, estate sales and other distressed properties.

The site’s first “no reserve” property auction ends on April 30, and is currently at $130,000. The property is located in Miami, Fla. and has a “Zestimate” (Zillow .com estimate) of $239,000.

With the real estate market in a slump, BidaBing claims that they can help to liquidate real estate, quickly and effectively.

According to a recent report, U.S. home foreclosure filings jumped 60 percent and bank seizures more than doubled in February as rates on adjustable mortgages rose and property owners were unable to sell or to refinance amid declining prices.

Rick Diaz, the company founder said, “The challenge in this market is to attract enough buyers. By combining traditional marketing methods with the Internet and offering conventional financing, we will get more local and international-qualified buyers to participate in the bidding. That will bring the highest sale price in any market.”

The web site not only helps buyers find properties, but it addresses the needs of the real estate agents and lenders as well — a group that is feeling the effects of the market’s decline, like no other.

Buyers and sellers who are not working with an agent at the time of registration may continue through the registration process. However, buyers are required to be registered under a BidaBing agent member before submitting a bid.

Agent members will assist buyers through the bidding, contract and financing process. BidaBing.com‘s lead system also refers sellers to agent members for assistance and counseling.

For lenders, the company plays a role in helping them liquidate assets and new loan origination.

The company’s objective is to make it easier for distressed properties to be auctioned to the general public with better terms while allowing banks and agents to benefit from the BidaBing.com application as well.

“Throughout the country, people are losing their homes and banks are losing money. In the end, everyone is losing, including tax payers. When we help someone avoid foreclosure everyone wins,” Diaz said.

Currently, there are members in five states: California, Florida, Idaho, New York and Oregon. Most members are in South Florida, where the first marketing efforts are being tested. The database continues to grow on a daily basis.

HONOLULU, Hawaii — In a slow real estate market, people get creative to sell their property. So Honolulu real estate brokerage firm Elite Pacific Properties is bringing to Hawaii a technique that is rapidly gaining popularity throughout the US: real estate auctions. Elite, which specializes in upscale real estate, has organized Hawaii’s biggest ever multi-property auction, to be held at the Hawaii Convention Center in Waikiki on July 14th from 10am-3pm.

Elite is auctioning over 20 different properties. “There is something for every buyer at the auction, including vacant land, income properties, condos, and houses. Auction properties range from a condo formerly at $299,000, now with a minimum bid of $200,000, to a North Shore beachfront estate previously at $7,950,000 and now with a minimum bid of $5,500,000,” said Stephen Cipres, Elite’s co-founder. “Naturally, our sellers are expecting to get bids above the minimum, while buyers turn out hoping for a good deal. All minimum bids are substantially below fair market value.”

Elite held some individual “sealed bid” property auctions earlier this year, and was successful at selling properties in a matter of weeks that other firms had listed for over a year without a sale. “An auction compresses the typical real estate marketing process into a shorter time period,” says Paul Mayer, the other co-founder. The partners researched auctions in depth and noticed a trend outside of Hawaii for multi-property auctions. When other Oahu brokerage firms expressed interest in working with Elite to auction their listed properties, they knew they were on to something.

Property information and Open House schedules as well as bidder registration documents are available at http://www.elitepacificauctions.com. Absentee bidding is allowed for those who can’t be present at the auction. Prior to auctioning off the real estate, Elite will hold a charity auction, with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.

Elite Pacific Properties is a real estate brokerage firm specializing in upscale properties, offering buyer and seller representation, property management, and real estate auctions for properties located throughout the state of Hawaii.

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. — A North Carolina author has found a unique way to market his writings to potential publishers. Steven Blood has put the manuscript for his children’s book “The City of Lost Socks” on the online auction website eBay in what seems to be the only auction of its kind.

eBay auction #190102443444 includes the manuscript and all media rights for it. This includes the rights to the book, movie, television and any other forms of communication. The new and proud owner of these rights will not owe Mr. Blood any future compensation in the form of royalties or any other payments beyond the winning bid.

“I see it as a win-win situation,” explains Steven Blood, “The publisher doesn’t have to wonder how much the book will cost him in the end, it’s all up front. And I don’t have to bicker over royalties and whatnot. I can just go back to writing and be done with it.”

“The City of Lost Socks” is a “Seussian” story written in rhyme. The story centers around the adventures of a young boy named Thomas who goes on a fantastic journey to discover the true reason his socks won’t match. Along the way he learns a life lesson about the dangers of labeling.

Also included are two drawings for the story also by the author.

The auction will be held on the eBay Auction website (www.ebay.com) January 29 – February 7, 2007.

Simply Sapphires LLC is an online company that specializes in the sale of natural precious stones to consumers and retailers.
This annual fundraising effort was prompted by the death of John’s Doberman Pinscher “Val” several years ago. DRU assisted him with turning his dog’s terminal illness into a positive step forward by the adoption of other dogs that needed a good home.

About Doberman Rescue Unlimited (DRU)
Since DRU’s founding in 1988, this non-profit organization has helped over 1,200 homeless Doberman Pinschers. Many who are rescued suffer from the effects of abuse and neglect with most in poor or life-threatening situations. Each animal taken in by DRU is examined by a veterinarian, tested, treated, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, tattooed with an ID number in case it becomes lost or stolen, and placed. Pending placement, the animals are kept in foster homes or in various facilities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Each animal is evaluated carefully before placement to assure that the animal and its new home are a good match. Other important functions of DRU are public education, animal care and obedience counseling, and training for being placed with the elderly, hearing or sight-impaired. Doberman Rescue Unlimited (DRU) PO Box 184 North Billerica, MA 01862 T: 978.454.9791. http://www.dru.org .

The auction is open to the public with the bidding beginning at $5. A nominal retail value for this set of jewelry would be well above $3,000.
