LOS ANGELES, Calif. /eNewsChannels/ — Neotrope(R), a public relations, advertising and marketing firm established in 1983, today announced the recipients of the NonProfit PR Grant Program for 2012. This year’s 10 recipients, selected from over 300 applicants, will receive approximately $50,000 total in pro bono services. Originally launched in 2000, the Neotrope PR Grants program has helped raise awareness for worthwhile causes all over the U.S. by providing public relations, news dissemination and online marketing, donated by Neotrope’s accredited staff.

“We’ve very happy to again be able to offer this program to charitable causes that are doing good,” said Neotrope CEO, Christopher Simmons; a member of PRSA and ASCAP. “This year we have again a very diverse selection of 501(c)3 charities with whom we will be working. We’re honored to be able to do our small part in helping raise their awareness to the public, supporters, potential sponsors, and of course the media.”

Neotrope launched its NonProfit PR Grant Program (www.send2press.com/non-profit) in 2000 and has provided discounted or free services to non-profits for almost 30 years. Neotrope’s Send2Press(R) Newswire service provides the news dissemination component of the grants program for getting press releases in front of interested media. Online marketing across the Neotrope News Network will also help reach up to 10 million eyeballs per month via banner advertising, included in this year’s grant.

Past recipients of the NonProfit PR Grant Program include Children Awaiting Parents, Girls Write Now, Paws of Life Foundation, Special Equestrians, The Bob Moog Foundation, The Starlight Children’s Foundation, The Native Voices Foundation, World Savvy, and many others.

2012 NON-PROFIT PR GRANT RECIPIENTS:

1) The Story Project (www.StoryProject.org) uses entertainment-arts curriculum to engage under-served and at-risk middle-school students through digital, media-based projects that educate, empower and inspire. Every production addresses conflict resolution and current issues students face on a daily basis while building literacy, communication, problem solving and teamwork skills that end in a tangible result. TSP works with students at their school over the duration of 12-14 weeks during their regularly scheduled school day for approximately 2 hours once a week to see a project from inception through delivery. We use teachers employed through our organization and professionals from the entertainment community who participate as mentors. Students hear others’ stories and learn to find and share their own.

2) The mission of the Pacific Pinball Museum (www.pacificpinball.org) is “To inspire an interest in science, art and history through pinball and to preserve and promote this important part of American culture.” We do this by: Maintaining and operating a Museum to display a large quantity of playable machines from all eras of pinball in an educational and entertaining manner. In addition to producing the world’s largest Pinball Event, the Pacific Pinball Exposition, we provide classes on the science of pinball, electricity and magnetism, art and history to local schools and visitors. We are a small group of dedicated individuals that are passionate about pinball and our desire to share it with the world. We are becoming the “Smithsonian of Pinball.”

3) Camp Blue Skies Foundation (www.campblueskies.org) provides week-long residential camps for adults with developmental disabilities. Camp Blue Skies fills a gap for a population that has few recreational opportunities offered to them once they are out of the school system. The camp experience has a profound impact and life changing effect on not only campers, but caregivers, counselors and volunteers. Camp sessions are currently offered in NC and GA. Over 150 adults with intellectual challenges have been served to date and 180 loyal volunteers have committed their personal time to assist at camp. “Our vision is to continue to develop and improve the programs we offer and broaden the population we serve by offering more sessions throughout the southeast region and hopefully beyond in the future.”

4) Move For Hunger (www.moveforhunger.org) is a non-profit organization that works with moving companies across the country to pick up unwanted, unopened food from those who are relocating and deliver it to local food banks across the country. Many people throw out a good deal of “stuff” when they move. Unfortunately, a lot of this “stuff” is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than thrown away. “That’s where we come in: our movers offer to pick up unwanted, non-perishable food items during the moving process and deliver it to local food banks. To date we are working with over 200 moving companies in 37 states. Together we have collected 400,000 lbs. of food for food banks across America.”

5) Fresh Start Surgical Gifts (www.freshstart.org) transforms the lives of disadvantaged infants, children, and teens with physical deformities caused by birth defects, accidents, abuse, or disease through the gift of reconstructive surgery and related healthcare services. The Surgery Weekend Program is Fresh Start’s largest project of each year, with six weekends of intensive reconstructive surgery as well as frequent dental clinics, laser treatments, and speech therapy services. Fresh Start’s Surgery Weekend Program provides access to comprehensive, free healthcare for low-income, uninsured, and underinsured children suffering from physical deformities and other conditions. Throughout the interim between these intensive marathon Surgery Weekends, Fresh Start also hosts speech therapy clinics, dental clinics, and laser treatments to ensure a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient.

6) CITYarts, Inc. (www.cityarts.org) empowers children and youth by bringing them together with professional artists to create public art that addresses civic and social issues, impacts lives, and transforms their communities. Thinking globally and acting locally, CITYarts’ projects build bridges of cultural understanding, giving youth the opportunity to take an active role in shaping their own future. Since 1968, CITYarts has created over 284 projects that have transformed communities and impacted over 100,000 kids, collaborated with more than 500 artists, partnered with over 1,500 sponsors, and engaged over 500,000 volunteers in the process. CITYarts’ projects frequently foster community revitalization by galvanizing businesses, schools, and community organizations into developing youth programs and constructing playgrounds and gardens.

7) Launched in 2000, WEST: Women Entrepreneurs in Science and Technology (www.westorg.org), provides a forum for women in science, engineering and technology industries to develop their careers and leadership through networking and information sharing. (www.cavecanempoets.org) was founded in 1996 by poets Toi Derricotte and Cornelius Eady to remedy the under-representation and isolation experienced by African American poets in writing workshops and MFA programs, Cave Canem is a home for the many voices of African American poetry and is committed to cultivating the artistic and professional growth of African American poets. C.A.T. pet therapy volunteer corps provide both animal-assisted activities (AAA) and animal-assisted therapy (AAT).

10) Center for Student Opportunity (www.csopportunity.org) is empowering underserved, first-generation college students to and through college by providing critical information, guidance, scholarships, and ongoing support.

TORRANCE, Calif. /eNewsChannels/ — Neotrope, a California based brand identity, internet marketing, and PR firm established in 1983, today announced it has expanded the deliverables of its 2012 Non-Profit PR Grants Program. All recipients of the 2012 program will now also receive up to $2,500 in additional services; specifically free online text and banner advertising on Neotrope(R) News Network sites. This brings the dollar value of the grant to each chosen recipient to $5,000, or $50,000 total value in donated services for 2012.

“We’re again donating $25,000 in free public relations and newswire services to worthy non-profit and charitable organizations to celebrate our 29th anniversary,” said Neotrope founder and CEO, Christopher Laird Simmons. “With this expansion, we’ve now added $25,000 in online marketing services to the program for the first time. This new component gives the grant recipients far more visibility online by running their advertising in ROS campaigns on our news network; we will even create banners for the recipients if they don’t already have them.”

The Neotrope News Network includes news and entertainment portals like eNewsChannels.com. CaliforniaNewswire.com, MusicIndustryNewswire.com and many others, generating up to 10 million page views per month. The Neotrope News Network is being completely “rebooted” in 2012, and existing sites are being upgraded for a Q1/2012 brand re-launch, and integration of the PR grant recipient advertising is being integrated from the ground up during the redesign process.

Neotrope previously donated services as part of its Non-Profit PR Grants Program in 2011, 2009, 2005 and 2000. In 2010, Neotrope “adopted” various charities in lieu of providing the PR Grant program, and has provided discounted or free services to various non-profits for almost 30 years. Neotrope’s Send2Press(R) Newswire service provides the online news dissemination component of the grants program for getting press releases in front of interested media.

Past recipients of the Non-Profit PR Grant Program include Children Awaiting Parents, Girls Write Now, Paws of Life Foundation, Special Equestrians, The Bob Moog Foundation, The Starlight Children’s Foundation, The Native Voices Foundation, World Savvy, and many others.

“Neotrope has played an important role in our success in the last couple years,” said Dana Mortenson, Executive Director, World Savvy. “The Neotrope PR Service Grant in 2009 was tremendously helpful in a critical year of our growth. With Neotrope’s help spreading the word for our youth engagement programs, we were able to engage more than 6,000 youth and 1,100 educators in our programs during the 2009-2010 school year.”

“Neotrope has done more to raise our profile than we could have ever imagined, and we thoroughly enjoyed working with them,” said Tammy Westney, Executive Director, Special Equestrians.

How to Apply for 2012 Grant Program:

Non-profit organizations may apply online through January 15, 2012. Organizations will be selected by January 30, 2012, and the amount donated to each selected non-profit will vary, but typically $2,500 in PR services per recipient plus the additional online marketing/advertising component (total value approximately $5,000 per recipient; this is not a cash grant). Two of the grants will be provided to California-based non-profits, who will receive additional promotional assistance through California Newswire(R). Additionally, all 501(c)(3) organizations automatically qualify for a 15% service discount.

The 2012 Neotrope PR Grant application for U.S. based IRS recognized 501(c)3 charitable non-profits can be found at http://www.Send2Press.com/non-profit/index.shtml .

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. /eNewsChannels/ — November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month. This year’s theme, “Get Seizure Smart,” encouraged Dominick and Kristina Toresco of Readington, New Jersey, to share their son’s experience with his neurological impairment. The Torescos are generous fund raisers for the Epilepsy Foundation, through their New Jersey auto dealerships: Autoland Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge and Toyotaland of Springfield, and Lexus of Englewood. The motivation is their 14 year old son, Dominick, Jr.

When their baby was born they were told he was exhibiting Infantile Spasms, a specific type of seizure seen in an epilepsy syndrome of infancy and childhood.

The Torescos worked with local neurologists in search of answers. But standard approaches were not showing success. Frustrated, Kristina located one of the nation’s top epileptologists in Detroit. The baby was immediately flown to Children’s Hospital of Michigan. His MRI and electroencephalograms were inconclusive, but a PET Scan (positron emission tomography) provided a clear diagnosis: focal cortical dysphasia (FCD). FCD is a congenital abnormality where the neurons in an area of the brain misfire leading to seizures.

Dominick, now 14, has shown enormous courage in dealing with his epilepsy. The Torescos considers themselves blessed with his resolve and success.

“We have come so far from where we were,” said Kristina. “And we’re grateful to the various medical teams. But you have to be your child’s advocate and seek a protocol that is best for your situation. I continue to research for any advancement and consult with experts.”

Through the efforts of the Torescos and their family of auto dealerships with the support of manufacturers and vendors, substantial funds have been raised to promote the National Epilepsy Foundation’s “Get Seizure Smart” campaign. The efforts will continue.

“People think of epilepsy as something that can easily be controlled with medication,” said Dominick Toresco, Sr. “In certain cases it does happen. But our son is proof that it’s vital to explore every avenue. There is no cure. But research can make a difference. We have seen vast improvements in our son’s life. But there is still much we don’t know.”

More than 3 million people in the U.S. have epilepsy. The Epilepsy Foundation’s Web site (www.epilepsyfoundation.org) is the Internet’s most comprehensive and authoritative source for information about seizure disorders. The organization provides a nationwide information service at (800) 332-1000, staffed by professionals who respond to caller questions.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — As the year came to an end, Financial Foundation Group – San Antonio continued the giving through the holiday season. Through the months of November and December, FFG – San Antonio collected toys for the Marine’s Toys for Tots Program of San Antonio. “It was important for us to become a drop-off location this year since this type of project is one of our favorites to do,” said Delia Rios, Supervisor and Community Service Organizer for FFG San Antonio. “It was a good opportunity for our surrounding community members to come in and give to children that normally wouldn’t receive toys.”

Empty boxes were collected from Brooke Army Medical Center located at 3851 Roger Brook Drive in San Antonio, Texas, and were set up in the front lobby of the San Antonio office. “I passed out flyers to neighboring businesses and homes and we had a pretty good response,” said Rios. “Posters and flyers along with Marines themselves were available to help promote this campaign.”

The Toys for Tots program, like Financial Foundation Group, continues to play an active role in the growth of our children. The toys were collected and distributed to children and families on December 22, 2009, just in time for the Christmas holiday.

The management of the Financial Foundation Group is also registered representatives with and offer securities through NEXT Financial Group, Inc., member FINRA, SIPC. Financial Foundation Group is not an affiliate of NEXT Financial Group, inc. NEXT is a national full service Broker/Dealer offering investment, retirement and insurance products and services which allows their representatives to offer financial products to suit each individual client’s needs.

The knowledgeable staff at FFG has access to a wide array of investment products and can provide assistance with life insurance choices and providing wealth building strategies.

TAMPA, Fla. — 2009 was a landmark year for the Financial Foundation Group. Even though the economy and the stock market have hit many hard, the Financial Foundation Group has been diligent about providing assistance to those in need. A combined effort of our country’s great U.S. Marine Corps, as well as many excited members of the Tampa office, created the opportunity for FFG to give back to the community that supports it by hosting a Holiday brunch and Toys for Tots collection event on December 12, 2009. Instead of enjoying a well deserved day off on the weekend, the staff of Financial Foundation Group in Tampa dressed up the office in holiday trimmings, provided festive foods and entertainment, and opened its doors to the community for its first annual toy drive.

“We want to have a positive impact on the community both as professionals and as neighbors,” said Leanna Cappucci, Executive Director with the Financial Foundation Group. “Supporting the U.S. Marines and the community through our toy drive is about much more than toys, it provides hope and encouragement to children here in Tampa, and after all, they are our tomorrow.”

The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to assist the U.S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. The primary goal of the Foundation is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them into becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. The Marines, together with the help of organizations like the Financial Foundation Group, are helping less fortunate children throughout communities across the U.S. experience the joy of Christmas, and are playing an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children.

In 2002, the Financial Foundation Group through an affiliated company opened its doors with just three people. FFG has experienced a phenomenal growth rate over the past few years and today they have grown to have 5 offices and approximately 100 people affiliated with the organization.

“Our company has grown tremendously due to our dedication to helping others,” Mr. Heinzelman, a Senior Partner at Financial Foundation Group explains. “We want continue our community involvement in every area where we have an office.”

DENVER, Colo. — As 2009 came to an end the employees of Financial Foundation Group, also known as FFG, wanted to make the holiday season special for people of all ages. As a company FFG felt that donating their time was one of the best ways to help the community. On December 10, 2009 the employees of Denver’s Financial Foundation Group took the afternoon off to go to the Children Hospital and work with adolescent patients of the hospital as well as their parents to make holiday decorations for their rooms, their siblings or even just to pass the time and enjoy the holiday season.

“It was so rewarding to be able to help make the kids holiday season brighter with decorations for their hospital rooms,” Melissa Bowman, Executive Director of FFG explains. “Some children were unable to come down from their rooms so their sibling came for them. The parents were so grateful and the kids seemed entertained and excited to be able to do crafts.”

All of FFG’s employees put their heads together for ideas that would be easy and fun for the hospitalized children to make. There were four different stations including reindeer making, ornament decorations, stockings to hang on the tree, and a snow man coloring station. The stockings were the biggest hit with the children!

In 2002, the Financial Foundation Group, through an affiliated company, opened its doors with just three people. FFG has experienced a phenomenal growth rate over the past few years and today they have grown to have 5 offices, with the newest office being opened by Chris Shanahan, who started here in Denver, and FFG now has approximately 100 people affiliated with the organization.

“As a company I feel we are able to continue to grow because of the dedication our employees and clients have to making it a bright future, no matter what troubles our economy faces. It is so exciting for us to be able to add value to people’s life both in and out of the office,” Mrs. Bowman adds.

The management of the Financial Foundation Group is made up of registered representatives who offer securities through NEXT Financial Group, Inc., member FINRA, SIPC. Financial Foundation Group is not an affiliate of NEXT Financial Group, Inc. NEXT is a national full service Broker/Dealer. NEXT representatives offer their clients investment, retirement, and insurance products and services that suit each individual client’s needs.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — As Financial Foundation Group San Antonio continued to expand through this last quarter, so has their commitment to the community. On Friday, November 13, 2009, FFG closed their office and volunteered their time with the Special Olympics San Antonio chapter. The associates of FFG met at the Bandera Bowl and Funplex located at 6700 Huebner Road in San Antonio, Texas, to help the athletes of Special Olympics complete the finals of the bowling tournament as they volunteered as guides, scorekeepers and award presenters.

“Volunteering in the community is always rewarding,” said Nate Harmon, Executive Director of FFG – San Antonio. “The Special Olympics organization provides so many activities for the athletes, its fun to see them succeed.”

The bowling tournament began November 11, 2009, with opening ceremonies at 9 a.m. followed by the competition. The athletes were divided into teams of 3 and were given team and individual rewards.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — 2009 has been an exciting and rewarding year for the Financial Foundation Group, also known as FFG. Instead of heading into the office on Friday December 11th, 2009, workers from the Loveland Financial Foundation Group were given permission to organize and decorate hundreds of new and refurbished bicycles for underprivileged children of all ages. The associates of the Financial Foundation Group met at 8:30 Friday morning at the First Presbyterian Church on the corner of College and Mulberry in the heart of Fort Collins, Colorado, to start their satisfying day of volunteer work.

“We deeply feel rewarded for helping others as a main part of what we do,” Aryn B. Goldman, Executive Director and Partner with Financial Foundation Group says, “and even though we weren’t able to meet the kids we were helping, we could tell from the hundreds of bicycles that hundreds of smiles were just around the corner.”

Individual and groups donated new and used bicycles to this year’s Bikes for Tykes. Lee’s Cyclery, The Phoenix Cyclery, Breakaway Cycles and The Trek Shop safety-checked and refurbished the bicycles to ensure safe riding for each recipient, and the members of Realities For Children provided brand new helmets to each youth at the event.

Each December, the members of Realities for Children partner with Bikes for Tykes to provide helmets and bicycles to local children who have been abused, neglected, or are at-risk for abuse and neglect. This was the 14th annual Bikes for Tykes and with nearly 500 bikes, was the largest one ever organized in Fort Collins.

Financial Foundation Group, like Realities for Children, believes in creating opportunity for individuals. “We believe our company has grown by leaps and bounds due to our dedication to helping our clients achieve their goals,” Ken Perrin, Senior Partner with FFG explains. “Encouraging our clients as well as having our offices focus on helping their community is what we call success.”

VANCOUVER, B.C. — ePly Services Inc. (@ePly), an online event registration software company based in North Vancouver, B.C. is excited to announce they have launched a new holiday season campaign designed to assist the United Way in generating much needed donations. This unique campaign, a first in the event registration industry, has captured the attention of many event planners, and allows current and new clients to decide on the price they want to pay, per registrant, to use ePly registration software. In addition, 10 percent of the proceeds will go to the United Way chapter of their choice.

“We wanted to come up with a fun way of generating funds for the United Way, so we decided to allow our clients to pick the price they want to pay as their per registrant fee,” Explains Jim Romanik, President at ePly Services Inc. “This past year has been difficult for many event planners and charities; by allowing our clients to pick their price with a portion going to the United Way they can feel good knowing they will be supporting their local community.”

“The United Way has many chapters across the U.S. and Canada. This makes the impact of our client’s generosity that much greater as they can contribute to their local chapter,” adds Jim. To learn more about how you can help your local United Way through this promotion visit www.eply.com/pick-your-price .

About ePly: ePly has been providing online event registration software to their clients since 2001. ePly’s registration software was developed to assist event planners in their registration process for events, conferences, meetings, tradeshows etc. For more information on ePly’s online registration software, visit www.eply.com .

About the United Way: United Way supports vulnerable people and works to prevent social problems. It’s priority for United Way to provide hope and opportunity for children and seniors. United Way leads change in the Lower Mainland region by understanding social issues through research and dialogue; bringing together partners and coordinating action; influencing public attitudes, systems and policy; measuring community change and evaluating investments.
