LOS ANGELES, Calif. /eNewsChannels/ — With the end of the world scheduled to take place later this year, G-Man Marketing is partnering with its clients to offer special reduced rates in public relations, songwriting, audio mixing and mastering, radio advertising, graphic design, live music promotion, music distribution, and more.

“No matter how the world concludes this year, whether from Galactic Alignment, the Mayan Calendar, Nostradamus, or some cataclysmic combination, we will all be there for you with special reduced rates on the services you will need to get your business started again,” states John Scott G from G-Man Marketing.

In a promotional event called “Lower the BOOM on Prices,” G-Man Marketing and their clients “will lower pricing by 12% starting 02.12.12,” G says. “While many marketing companies raised their pricing this year by 15% or more, we took the opposite approach. We chose 02.12.12 to start the promo, as it’s one digit lower than 12.12.12, which is our way of being optimistic.”

G continues, “Additionally, a second part of the promotion will run from the ‘end of the world’ all the way through to the end of the year.” Among the offers that will apply from December 21 to 31, 2012, are the following: G-Man Marketing will provide public relations services for free. Send2Press.com (a service of Neotrope(R)) will disseminate the media announcements for free. Country artist Sandra Piller will sell her album at half price. Country songwriter Jane Bach will co-write a song for free. Matt Forger will mix and master a song for one-third off.

Sheena Metal, host on LATalkRadio, will create a radio commercial for your product. In addition, her Carnyville live music event will let your band play two sets for free, “even if all your fans have expired,” notes Ms. Metal.

Goodnight Kiss Music is offering half off music consultations. Robin Hood Music offers free song downloads. Phil Hatten Design will create a logo for free. FookMovie will create a free music video. And a spokesperson for Golosio, the music publishing firm, says “We will pitch your song to whatever film and TV projects are still available, although they probably will just be basic cable.”

Some restrictions apply for the second part of the promotion only: “First, the world must actually come to an end on or about December 21,” G said. “Second, you’ll have to figure out how to get in touch with us during the ten days in question because we’ve had no assurances from the phone companies that they’ll be doing anything at that time except figuring out how to charge you for unused minutes.”

For more information about all the firms and individuals in this story, please contact John Scott G of G-Man Marketing (www.gmanmarketing.com). “Please remember,” G states, “the world may end but good hype is forever.” G-Man Marketing, 818-223-8486.

WASHINGTON, D.C. /eNewsChannels/ — Using music as a means to engage audiences worldwide, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announced today that the American Music Abroad program is now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 season. Musicians interested in applying for this international exchange program, which consists of month-long, multi-country tours for approximately 10 ensembles from a variety of American musical genres, may apply at www.americanvoices.org/ama .

American Music Abroad ensembles will be selected on the basis of artistic quality and commitment to educational and cultural engagement.

The deadline for applicants is January 16, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

American Music Abroad builds on Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s vision of “smart power” diplomacy, which embraces the full range of diplomatic tools – in this case, music – to bring people together and foster greater understanding.

The Department of State, in partnership with the Association of American Voices, will craft an international exchange that will engage selected American ensembles with international audiences, especially underserved youth. Through public concerts, interactive performances with local musicians, lecture demonstrations, workshops, and jam sessions, the American Music Abroad initiative reaches audiences in nearly 40 countries with little or no access to live American musical performances.

“Naomi and Wynonna won the Country Music Association’s Vocal Group/Duo of the Year Award every year from 1985 to 1991,” said Williams. “Then, Naomi was diagnosed with a serious illness that cost her health, her ability to tour, and nearly her life. Today, she is healthier than ever and touring has re-energized her relationship with her daughter.

NEW YORK, N.Y. /eNewsChannels/ — The Pit Stop Players, a thirteen-member instrumental ensemble composed of veteran Broadway pit musicians, will kick off their third season with a concert at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The critically acclaimed group will offer creepy-themed music the night before Halloween, in a program titled “Dark Side of the Tune.”

“I’ve always had a soft spot for music that scares the living daylights out of people,” said Joshua Rosenblum, the group’s founder and music director, “So we’ll be ushering in Halloween with a few choice terrifying tunes. And if the music doesn’t frighten anyone, my Michele Bachmann mask will.”

Instead of traditional Halloween concert fare, such as “Night on Bald Mountain” and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” the concert will include evocative but lesser-known creations by Bolcom, Ives, Prokofieff and Schubert, as well as five works composed especially for the occasion. The new offerings include pieces by Gary William Friedman (The Me Nobody Knows, The Electric Company), Josh Schmidt (Adding Machine, The Minister’s Wife), Michael Starobin (Orchestrator: Sunday in the Park with George, Next to Normal), and the conductor’s 15-year-old son, Julian Rosenblum, in his professional debut.

The Pit Stop Players, who collectively have played in pit orchestras for over 120 Broadway productions, include Ed Matthew, Steve Kenyon, and Don McGeen, woodwinds; Chris Jaudes, trumpet; Wayne Goodman, trombone; Dan Culpepper, horn; Robin Zeh, violin; Paul Woodiel, violin; Alissa Smith, viola; Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf, cello; Garah Landes, piano; Jeff Carney, bass; and Greg Landes, percussion.

Rosenblum, who founded the Pit Stop Players in 2009 as a means of giving Broadway musicians a chance to climb out of the pit and take center stage, says that nearly any genre is fair game for their programs, including traditional and contemporary classical, jazz, rock, fusion, and film music. However, the primary emphasis is on new compositions and arrangements, written and orchestrated specifically for the group.

The players will be in Halloween costumes, and audience members are encouraged to come dressed for the occasion as well.

Composer, conductor and pianist Joshua Rosenblum has led the orchestras for thirteen Broadway and Off Broadway shows, including Wonderful Town, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Music Man, Miss Saigon and Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. He is also the composer/creator of BUSH IS BAD, the hit Off Broadway satirical revue, and the composer/co-lyricist of Fermat’s Last Tango, Einstein’s Dreams, Garbo and Me, and the forthcoming The Haunted Hotel. His instrumental music has been recorded on two CDs: Impetuosities and Sundry Notes, both on the Albany Records label. Rosenblum has written pieces on commission for Philip Smith, principal trumpeter of the New York Philharmonic; Ethel, America’s premier post-classical string quartet; and the Chase Brock Experience dance troupe, among many others. He teaches Composing for Musical Theater at Yale University, his alma mater, and was recently awarded a grant from the Signature Theatre in Washington, D.C., as part of the American Musical Voices Project: The Next Generation.

LADY LAKE, Fla. /eNewsChannels/ — Alliance Healthcare Foundation announces that mother and daughter country legends Naomi and Wynonna Judd will make their final scheduled Central Florida stop on their Last Encore Tour, October 15, as headliners of The Grand Oaks Festival featuring The Judds. The event will benefit the Alliance Healthcare Foundation.

Gates open at 10 a.m. for the music festival which will feature opening acts The Calhouns, McKinley and Beggs, Rob Nichols, Norman Lee, and Donna Moore. The Judds are scheduled to appear at 3 p.m. at the 400-acre outdoor venue located midway between Orlando and Ocala and just eight miles from The Villages. The concert, taking place at the equine-inspired Grand Oaks Resort, will benefit the Alliance Healthcare Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides philanthropic support for Leesburg Regional Medical Center and The Villages Health System.

Tickets are $35 lawn seating, $60 guaranteed general admission seating, and $125 VIP preferred seating. All major credit cards are accepted. For directions to the resort, visit http://www.TheGrandOaks.com . Tickets are available through http://www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

“When Naomi co-wrote ‘Love Can Build A Bridge’ and released it in 1990, it was almost like a goodbye to family and fans,” said Ted Williams, Alliance Healthcare Foundation President. “After she and daughter Wynonna had won the Country Music Association’s Vocal Group/Duo of the Year Award every year from 1985 to 1991, Naomi was diagnosed with a chronic illness that nearly took her life and led to her retirement from touring with her daughter. Today, through perseverance and the wonders of medical science, she has come back stronger and healthier than ever.”

From an early age, Wynonna recalls her mother encouraging her and her siblings to be contributing members of the community. “The most important gift we can give anybody is kindness,” says Naomi. “I think we’re here to grow and love and be of service.” So it’s no wonder that the duo wholeheartedly agreed to the benefit concert to support the Alliance Healthcare Foundation. “It was an absolute yes,” Naomi says.

“Fundraising events such as this concert and those we have planned for the future are essential for the progress and growth of our hospitals and the services we provide,” said Williams. “With the challenges of operating a successful contemporary health care organization, the need for broad gift support from our friends in the community is greater than ever before.

The Judds have won over 60 industry awards – including five Grammy Awards – and will sing classic breakout hits including “Mama, He’s Crazy,” “Why Not Me,” “Love Can Build a Bridge,” “Girls Night Out,” and “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days).” Wynonna will also perform some of her biggest hits.

About The Alliance Healthcare Foundation:

The Alliance Healthcare Foundation ( http://cfhalliance.org/giving_overview.htm ) is a not-for-profit Foundation which provides philanthropic support for Leesburg Regional Medical Center and The Villages Health System in Central Florida. The Foundation’s mission is to provide a margin of excellence for quality healthcare in the communities served by these hospitals through fundraising, friend-raising, leadership and donor engagement.

KALISPELL, Mont. /eNewsChannels/ — Since its beginnings in summer 2009, Skull Church has delivered killer concerts from popular Christian artists and a clear gospel message to the Flathead Valley. Named for the place of Christ’s crucifixion, Skull Hill, the monthly event is regularly held at the Liberty and Strand Theatres in Kalispell. This month, for the first time, the event will be taken on the road for two days to the historic Wilma Theater in Missoula. Fresh Life Church produces Skull Church events.

Taking place Sept. 16 and 17, Skull Church Missoula will feature two highly anticipated bands, Blindside and Family Force 5, with the cornerstone of the night being a raw and relevant gospel message from Levi Lusko.

“Skull Church has always been a platform to spread the message that the most beautiful thing to ever happen in history occurred in a place of death-God died in our place,” says Lusko. “We’ve broadcast that message through the monthly Skull Church event, on the Web, and radio, now we’re amplifying it through the speakers at the Wilma. We’d like to see every one of those 1,067 theatre seats filled with people hearing the gospel.”

Skull Church has become an impressive platform for live music, and the Missoula event will be no different. Attendees can expect state of the art audio and visual technology, along with an experience that rivals most mainstream concerts, but the focus isn’t the show.

“The platform may be intense, the music and media aggressive, but the heart of the night is to lead the audience into a better understanding of who Jesus Christ is and what he did on the cross,” says Executive Pastor Coy Trammel.

Although the edgy format and use of technology typically draws a younger generation, Skull Church is for everyone.

“Skull Church isn’t your grandmother’s church, but she’s welcome too,” says Lusko.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the evening kicking off at 7:00 p.m. both nights. Skull Church Missoula is a free event specifically for a generation that does not know God, isn’t necessarily “into” church, and desperately needs Jesus. The primary focus of the night will be to bring a culturally applicable, explicit gospel message.

“We are humbled by the response to Skull Church but we are not identified by how many are inside the church, but instead by how many are outside,” states Lusko. “Our vision is to see those stranded in sin find life and liberty in Jesus Christ.”

For those who can’t make it, Skull Church Missoula will be broadcast online through a high definition webcast at www.skullchurch.com – and streamed live on Fresh Life Radio at www.freshliferadio.com. For more information about Skull Church, call Fresh Life Church at 406.257.3339.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. /eNewsChannels/ — The Bob Moog Foundation and the Museum of Making Music are delighted to announce the joint auction of a Moog Little Phatty Stage II(R) synthesizer signed by jazz fusion legends Herbie Hancock and George Duke. The auction, which benefits both organizations, will be hosted on the Bob Moog Foundation eBay portal at http://stores.ebay.com/bobmoogfoundation from Sept. 8 to Sept. 18, 2011.

George Duke signed the back of the synthesizer after his November performance at the exhibit with the inscription “Keep Playing” and his signature. Herbie Hancock signed the iconic curved side panel of the instrument. Duke and Hancock are both considered synthesizer pioneers, making heavy use of the innovative Moog instruments in the 1970s and 1980s.

The Little Phatty(R) synthesizer was donated to the two organizations by Moog Music, Inc. pursuant to their joint exhibit, Waves of Inspiration: The Legacy of Moog, which was on display at the Museum of Making Music until April 2010. The Bob Moog Foundation and the Museum of Making Music both convey inspiration from music, history, and innovation, and will share proceeds from the auction.

“The Moog story is an important element of our museum,” said Carolyn Grant, executive director of the Museum of Making Music. “In fact, a quote by Bob Moog is prominently displayed in our interactive gallery: ‘Music instruments have always, from the very beginning of human history, used the most advanced technology of their time.’”

“In our work at the Bob Moog Foundation, we ignite the innovative and creative spirit,” said Michelle Moog-Koussa, executive director of the Bob Moog Foundation. “This auction, through the incredible instrument, groundbreaking artists, and wonderful collaborative partnership with the Museum of Making Music, encapsulates various facets of Bob Moog’s legacy. We are proud of this collaboration and grateful to all who have participated.”

The Little Phatty Stage II is a monophonic analog synthesizer manufactured by Moog Music since 2006. It puts the performer in control of 100% analog signal path, two Voltage Controlled Oscillators and the Voltage Controlled Filter. Other versatile features include external audio input, CV and KB gate input, full MIDI controller, MIDI over USB, MIDI Clock Sync, an arpeggiator and Tap Tempo. The Little Phatty Stage II brings true analog synthesis to contemporary performance and production, making it modern music powerhouse.

George Duke is a highly acclaimed keyboardist, synthesist, and vocalist who has enjoyed a prolific career as an R&B, funk, jazz, and rock musician and as an accomplished composer and producer. He has worked with an array of including: Jean-Luc Ponty, Frank Zappa, Stanley Clarke, Billy Cobham, Dianne Reeves, George Clinton, Anita Baker, Miles Davis, Denise Williams, Jeffery Osborne, Regina Belle and others.

Herbie Hancock is an award winning pianist, bandleader, and composer who is considered to be a true icon of modern music. Throughout his decades-long career, he has transcended limitations and genres while still maintaining his unique, unmistakable voice. Herbie’s success at expanding the possibilities of musical thought has placed him in the annals of this century’s visionaries. He is the winner of 14 Grammy(R) Awards.

The Bob Moog Foundation honors the legacy of synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog through its mission of igniting the innovative and creativity spirit through the intersection of music, history, science, and innovation. Its projects include the Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, which brings electronic musical instruments into the schools to teach children science through music; the Archive Preservation Initiative, an effort to preserve and protect the inventor’s extensive and historical archive; and the future Moogseum, an innovative educational, historical, and cultural facility that will bring Bob Moog’s spirit alive through interactive, experiential exhibits (www.moogfoundation.org).

The Museum of Making Music, a division of the NAMM Foundation, has become a cultural destination with interactive and educational programs and exhibits since opening to the public in 2000. The Museum showcases the evolution of musical instruments from the late 19th century to present day in five galleries, and regularly hosts intimate concerts and hands-on workshops to introduce the public to the history of American music products. Its recent half-million dollar renovation encourages hands-on music making through state-of-the-art interactive displays and highlights music making around the world. The Museum of Making Music is located at NAMM’s international headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif. (www.MuseumofMakingMusic.org).

Pavlina Osta, a 10-year old musician, was playing the steel drums and piqued the interest of a local radio show; this quickly led to a show of her own and to the creation of Pavlina Productions. Today, at the age of 13, Pavlina says that she “has the best job in the world.”

This rising teen radio personality has more than 100 celebrity interviews under her belt. Her roster boasts Paul Reiser, Ziggy Marley, Big Time Rush, Kat Von D, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Kevin Jonas, Brian Wilson and many more.

When Pavlina is not in school, she can be found on location backstage, on tour buses, at blockbuster concerts or swanky hotel lobbies, talking to some of the biggest in the business.

When asked if she ever gets nervous interviewing these celebrities, she says, “No. We sit down and talk. Why be nervous?”

Pavlina adds that, “I ask questions that teens want answers to. I ask them who they look up to and why; I ask them how they overcome personal obstacles. It’s all done in a fun and casual way.”

And, at all times, Pavlina maintains an air of privacy and professionalism; people trust her.

While the majority of her interviews center on music, she has also interviewed sports legends, reality-show winners, television stars and even top politicians.

The radio show, Pavlina’s Kidz Place, is pre-recorded and airs Saturday mornings at 11:30 a.m. ET on WAPN 91.5 out of Holy Hill, FL; on WAPB 91.7 out of Madison, FL; and Pavlina Radio Worldwide can be heard on mobile devices and five Internet radio stations; the list continues to grow.

When Pavlina is not on the air or attending Florida public school, she can be found at the Orlando Ballet School or the Joffrey Ballet in New York City; she is a top ballet dancer. Wherever her locale, she is equipped with her MP3 recorder and camera. She knows how to get the attention of the tour manager or record representative for photos and video; she’s a one-girl show.

Pavlina has been featured in numerous publications such as Tiger Beat; Country Weekly; Backstage Pass Magazine; the Orlando Sentinel; Daytona Beach News Journal; and more. Upcoming features include a spotlight in Equanimity magazine at the end of August; and in Faces magazine, a world culture magazine published by Cobblestone, this upcoming October.
