SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — To commemorate the first annual anniversary of the Angora Fire, Think Tank Promotions, in association with Net TV Broadcasting, present “The Angora Benefit Concert.” Gates open at noon at the Horizon Casino Outdoor Concert Center, 50 Highway 50, Lake Tahoe, Nevada, June 24, 2008. This all-day benefit concert will showcase national and local entertainment and is designed to create awareness and monetary support. Proceeds from ticket sales will be given to the “Locals for Locals” fund.

“Last year, we all witnessed what is possible when a community pulls together all of its resources to provide for the needs of our citizens,” Brian Gogue, president of Think Tank Promotions, says. “One year later, our community still needs support as it rebuilds.”

On June 24, 2007, the South Lake Tahoe community was devastated by one of the most significant disasters, to date. It received global media attention as 3,500 residents were displaced and 3,100 acres of forest burned. Support was provided at the community and national levels. People opened up their homes and businesses offered support. The long-term effects are immeasurable and the repercussions of this tragedy are still being felt by victims, families and friends.

Gogue is also one of the neighbors who lost his home last year in the fire. He and his three children survived the blaze, but lost everything they had.”We were lucky to have a great insurance policy,” Gogue said. “Not everyone was so fortunate, and I feel that I can use the influence of Think Tank Promotions to help the community.”

This benefit concert is designed to bring the community together to reflect on the tragedy, to celebrate immediate success, and to provide support to the families who are still trying to pick up the pieces of their lives.

Bardstown, KY Musician Matt Fogle to Embark on Month-long 6-state Tour

BARDSTOWN, Ky. — An acoustic rock musician from Bardstown, Kentucky will embark on a month-long tour of laundry mats, spanning a number of cities in six states. Matthew Fogle kicks off the promotional expedition, aptly entitled “Spring Cleaning Tour ‘08″ on Monday, March 24th in his hometown of Bardstown. The tour then visits nearly 20 laundry mats in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, and other stops in Kentucky. The tour wraps up back in Bardstown on Thursday, April 17th.

Fogle, age 25, has been playing music for over 11 years and recently went solo after playing lead guitar with several rock bands since 1998. The solo venture was kick-started last year with the release of his debut CD “On the Brink,” an 11-track album with all original compositions, some written before Fogle was able to play the guitar.

“I got the idea for a laundry mat tour last spring when I drove past one near my apartment, and there were several people inside who looked like they needed to be entertained,” Fogle remarks. “I’m giving them something to listen to while they wait for their dirty socks to get clean.”

NEW ORLEANS, La. — The newly built church was filled to its capacity of 1500 seats; people were seated in the aisles, standing in the doorways, and waiting in the hallway to hear the music. Traffic around the church was snarled and backed up for six blocks, as more people continued to make their way to hear Trombone Shorty, and his musical guests perform at a free Christmas concert at the First Baptist Church of New Orleans this past week, it was announced by New Orleans Music Hall of Fame.

Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, along with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Shades of Praise Choir, headlined the three-hour performance. Also performing were Ms. Susan King, a inspirational Gospel singer, and Terc Martinez, a up and coming Latin vocalist, with a special cameo appearance by Irvin Mayfield.

The unique composition of the public concert reflected the changing population of the City of New Orleans, after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Families, churchgoers, civil servants, and politicians alike basked in the warmth of the rich musical sounds of this one of a kind concert. Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu praised Trombone Shorty for his dedication to the community, and honored him with an award from the State of Louisiana. Senator Diana Bajoie of Louisiana awarded him with a state proclamation for his musical contributions, and Mayor Ray Nagin also attended the multi-cultural event, and presented Trombone Shorty with a proclamation from the City of New Orleans. City Council members were also in attendance, along with State Representative Juan LeFonte, who also awarded Trombone Shorty with a declaration from the State of Louisiana House - all had come to hear this unique musical Christmas event organized by the New Orleans Music Hall of Fame featuring New Orleans’s newest shining star, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews.

“This is a time of unity and celebration - a time when the people of New Orleans can come together and enjoy some of the unique musical culture this city is famous for worldwide,” said New Orleans Music Hall of Fame Founder and Executive Director, PopAgee Johnson. “This holiday is also a return to normalcy for many New Orleans natives - for many residents, this is the first time that the people have come together since the storm to celebrate together - and what better time than Christmas.”

The concert was an unprecedented success - in fact, it was so successful that people had to be turned away due to fire code restrictions. Standing ovations happened many times throughout the night, and many people were seen with tears in their eyes during the song performed by the entire assembly, “O Holy Night.” For some of the officials and business owners attending the event, the show was an eye- opener; a reminder of one of the amazing local resources that was severely affected by the Hurricane - the musicians of the city, and their dedication to the people of the city.

PopAgee Johnson, who was traveling on a forty-city tour with Trombone Shorty, thought of the idea of the musicians giving a free concert to the people of the City this year for Christmas. Less than four weeks before the event, the musicians and the Hall of Fame banded together to make this incredible event happen with the support of local businesses, the City of New Orleans, the State of Louisiana, and the newly built First Baptist Church of New Orleans. The concert was an immense success, and helped to remind the people of the City and the State of why the community and people of New Orleans are so unique and varied, and worth fighting for. There were children and adults alike sitting in the aisle, pews, and yes, even the hallway, listening to the sweet sounds of a New Orleans Christmas - sounds of unity - and hope.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Killian Wells, an up-and-coming young pop singer, songwriter and producer, has allegedly become the target of a stalker from British Columbia, Canada, according to his label Inferno Records. Wells claims the overly zealous fan has e-mailed and made multiple phone calls to his Manhattan recording studio posing as a DJ from a phony radio station in an attempt to obtain unreleased tracks and to set up an interview. As a result, Wells has changed his phone number.

On October 12th Wells discovered the actions of the alleged stalker had turned from unsettling to criminal. “He was attempting to pass my songs off as his own on a MySpace music profile and other websites,” said Wells. One of the allegedly stolen songs was “Crank Up My Holiday,” a track Wells had recorded not a week earlier and added to his official MySpace profile for fans to hear prior to its November iTunes release. “He received over 1,000 plays of my new track in less than 5 hours after uploading it,” said Wells.

In addition to the alleged unauthorized use of his material, Wells claims the individual has also committed music piracy. Since February of 2007 a CD donning this person’s name but comprised of Wells’ music has been for sale through an online store. Wells also alleges that the fan has been actively trying to license his music for use in shows and gave a YouTube director permission to use “Freak,” a favorite amongst Killian’s fans, in a production.

Beyond copyright issues, Wells says he’s concerned for the personal safety of young MySpace users who could have potentially been tricked into giving out their contact information. In a video blog uploaded to YouTube, in which Wells’ song “Looking For A Way” can be heard playing in the background, the alleged stalker claims “I’m going to stop by their (fans) house and pick them up and take them into the studio with me.” The video in question can still be seen on YouTube under the title Graham Dodge Vlog #1.

Wells has retained legal representation with Greenberg Traurig, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the world. After consulting with his attorney, Wells is taking the necessary steps to ensure the situation is resolved in accordance with the law. Under federal copyright law 17 U.S.C. S 504(c), he could potentially seek statutory damages of up to $150,000 per song infringement though he said no charges are pending.

Wells’ debut single “(If Only Life Could Be Like) Hollywood” was released this month to mainstream radio stations across the country via Orlando based Promo Only alongside Britney Spears, Kanye West, and Sean Kingston. Wells co-wrote the single with Mark Calderon of Color Me Badd fame.
