ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The weight of the world falls upon all parentless children. That’s why Children Awaiting Parents, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding adoptive families for children in foster care, is hosting its popular Family Walk on Saturday, September 26, 2009. While the Family Walk is held in Rochester, NY at Ontario Beach Park, friends and supporters of Children Awaiting Parents can participate in the Walk regardless of where they live in the United States. Supporters simply go to www.ChildrenAwaitingParents.org, and click on the Family Walk registration link.

Children Awaiting ParentsCustom fundraising pages can be created and sent to friends and relatives. On September 26th, if participants do not live in Rochester, NY, they are invited to take a walk in their own community to show their support for children that wait far too long in foster care for a family of their own.

“Our Family Walk is a terrific, active way for people to show they care about foster children that hope for adoption,” stated Mark Soule, Executive Director. “We help bring together children and families from across the United States. We are excited that new technology now allows people from across the United States to get involved in generating support and funds for our small, highly-effective organization.”

For those that do live in Rochester, please join Children Awaiting Parents at Ontario Beach Park for terrific family fun, including delicious food and great entertainment. All funds raised through the Family Walk support Children Awaiting Parents efforts to find a loving, adoptive family for every child in foster care.

In 37 years, Children Awaiting Parents has brought together more than 6,000 children and families throughout the United States.
