Brown Jr. announced numerous appointments, including: Gloria Bell, 57, of Salinas, has been appointed to the California Employment Training Panel. Bell has been safety officer and employee relations manager at Driscoll Strawberry Associates Inc. since 2002. She was human resource manager at Temple-Inland Paperboard and Packaging Inc. from 1999 to 2002 and human resource manager at Fresh Express from 1994 to 1999.
Bell is a member of the AgSafe Board of Directors and the Society for Human Resource Management. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Bell is a Democrat.
Ernest Cabral, 50, of Penngrove, has been appointed to the California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Commission. Cabral has been general manager at Cycle West Honda Suzuki in Petaluma since 1994. He was an insurance agent at Ted Cabral Insurance Services from 2009 to 2010. Cabral serves as chairman of the Sonoma County Flood Advisory Committee and is a member of the Marin County Motorcycle Association. Kevin Murphy, 44, of Morgan Hill, has been appointed to the California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Commission. Murphy has been chief executive officer at Exodus Innovations LLC since 2008 and has held multiple positions at the Santa Clara County Fire Department since 1990, including fire captain, firefighter, engineer and emergency medical technician. Ernest Chung, 60, of Kentfield, has been appointed to the California State Park and Recreation Commission. Chung was managing director at KPMG Consulting and BearingPoint Inc. from 2001 to 2009. He held multiple positions at the Chevron Corporation from 1979 to 2001, including principal consultant, general manager, business development manager, area business development manager and technology research and development manager. Chung serves as chairperson of Friends of China Camp and as board member of the Marin State Parks Association. He earned a doctorate degree and Master of Science degree in chemical engineering from the California Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Tommy Randle, 70, of San Dimas, has been reappointed to the California State Park and Recreation Commission, where he has served since 2011. Randle has been president of California Leading Edge Inc. since 1994. He was partnership coordinator at the U.S. Census Bureau and at the U.S. Department of Commerce from 2009 to 2011. Randle was a commissioner at the San Dimas Park and Recreation Commission from 1994 to 1999 and was a regional product manager at International Business Machines from 1971 to 1994.
