SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Calif. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments: First, Janet Falk, 66, of Oakland, has been appointed to the California Housing Finance Agency Board of Directors. Falk was vice president of real estate development for Mercy Housing from 2002 to 2011 and executive director of the California Housing Finance Corporation from 1999 to 2002.
Falk was co-director of Community Economics Inc. from 1980 to 1999, an associate planner for the City of Walnut Creek Planning Department from 1976 to 1980 and an assistant planner for the City of Concord Planning Department from 1975 to 1976. Falk earned a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from the University of California, Berkeley. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Falk is a Democrat.
Matthew Jacobs, 37, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the California Housing Finance Agency Board of Directors. Jacobs has been principal at Bulldog Partners LLC since 2010. He was manager of acquisitions and development for the western region at Turnberry Ltd. from 2005 to 2010 and acquisitions and development manager for the Urban Landfill Group at Pulte Homes Corporation from 2003 to 2005. Jacobs was a planning intern at Lower Manhattan Development Corporation in 2002 and manager of operations at Yale University Properties from 1998 to 2001. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree in real estate finance from Columbia Business School. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Timothy Onderko, 35, of Loomis, has been appointed to the California Housing Partnership Corporation. Onderko has served in various positions at The Money Brokers Inc. since 2005, including vice president. He was a consultant to California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nuñez from 2004 to 2005 and a staff member on the Ira Ruskin for Assembly campaign in 2004. Onderko was a consultant to the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California from 2002 to 2004 and a legislative aide and senior consultant to California Assembly Speaker Robert Hertzberg from 2000 to 2002. Miguel Gallardo, 38, Aliso Viejo, has been appointed to the California Board of Psychology, where he has served since 2010. Gallardo has been director of research and training at the Orange County Multi-Ethnic Collaborative of Community Agencies since 2009, an independent practitioner at the Neurobehavioral Clinic and Counseling Center since 2007 and associate professor of psychology at Pepperdine University since 2008, after serving as assistant professor from 2005 to 2008. He was a counseling psychologist and lecturer at the University of California, Irvine from 2001 to 2006. Gallardo was a counseling center intern for the University of California, Los Angeles from 2000 to 2001 and director of the sexual offenders program at Santa Anita Family Service from 1998 to 2001. Gallardo earned a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100. Brian Back, 62, of Camarillo, has been appointed to the State Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Back has been a Ventura County Superior Court judge since 1998. Back was an attorney with Arnold Back Mathews Wojkowski and Zirbel LLP from 1990 to 1997, Arnold and Back from 1989 to 1990 and Nordman Cormany Hair and Compton LLP from 1977 to 1989. He earned a Master of Arts degree in government from Claremont Graduate School and a Juris Doctorate degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law. Sylvia Moir, 47, of Penryn, has been appointed to the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. She has served as police chief at the El Cerrito Police Department since 2010. She served as police commander at the Menlo Park Police Department from 2008 to 2010 and was police lieutenant at the Sacramento Police Department from 1990 to 2008. Moir is a member of the California Police Chiefs Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police and International Association of Women Police. Monica Nino, 49, of Modesto, has been appointed to the California Sex Offender Management Board. Nino has been the chief executive officer for Stanislaus County since 2012. She served in multiple positions for Stanislaus County from 1988 to 2012, including assistant executive officer, deputy executive officer, senior management consultant and accountant.
