SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — On Thursday, Calif. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced the following governmental appointments: First, Dan Burch, 47, of Turlock, has been appointed to the California Commission on Emergency Medical Services. Burch has been administrator at the San Joaquin County Emergency Medical Services Agency since 2005. He was a coordinator at Tuolumne County Emergency Medical Services Agency from 1997 to 2005 and a quality improvement coordinator at the Alpine, Mother Lode, San Joaquin Emergency Medical Services Agency from 1991 to 1997. Burch was a hospital corpsman 3rd class in the United States Navy from 1984 to 1986. He is president-elect of the Emergency Medical Services Administrators’ Association of California. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Burch is a Republican.
David Rose, 48, of Livermore, has been appointed to the California Commission on Emergency Medical Services, where he has served since 2010. Rose has served in various positions at the City of Santa Clara Fire Department since 1991,including fire captain-paramedic. He is a member of the California Professional Firefighters and is a former president of the Santa Clara Firefighters, IAFF Local 1171. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Rose is a Democrat.
Eric Rudnick, 52, of Red Bluff, has been appointed to the California Commission on Emergency Medical Services, where he has served since 2010. Rudnick has been medical director at Northern California Emergency Medical Services Inc. since 2010 and a consultant at the Rural Response Group since 2008. He has been medical director at the Santa Clara County Emergency Medical Services Agency Division of Public Health and an independent emergency medicine consultant since 2005. Rudnick served in multiple positions at Shasta Emergency Medical Group Inc. at the St. Elizabeth Community Hospital from 1996 to 2004 and at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center from 1993 to 2004. He is a member of the Emergency Medical Directors Association of California. Rudnick earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Rudnick is a Democrat.
Kathleen Stevenson, 50, of Saugus, has been appointed to the California Commission on Emergency Medical Services. Stevenson has served in multiple positions at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles since 1984, including manager of the pediatric disaster resource and training center and house supervisor. Stevenson is a member of the California Hospital Association. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Stevenson is a Republican.
Alfredo Pedroza, 26, of Napa, has been appointed to the California State Assistance Fund for Enterprise, Business and Industrial Development Corporation. Pedroza has been vice president at Mechanics Bank in Napa since 2013. He was branch manager at Redwood Credit Union from 2009 to 2013 and a senior personal banker at Bank of America from 2005 to 2009. Pedroza has been a member of the Napa City Council since 2012. He is a member of the board of directors for Community Action of Napa Valley and Aldea Children and Family Services. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Pedroza is a Democrat.
Richard Weinert, 60, of Sacramento, has been appointed chief of the division of codes and standards at the California Department of Housing and Community Development, where he has served as a codes and standards administrator III since 1989. He was inspector at Resources, Applications, Designs and Controls Inc. in 1989. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $105,420. Weinert is registered decline-to-state.
Deborah Gore, 37, of West Sacramento, has been appointed assistant chief of the manufactured housing section at the California Department of Housing and Community Development, where she has been acting legislative director and legislative coordinator since 2007. Gore held multiple positions at the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection from 2005 to 2007, including associate governmental program analyst, Proposition 40 grant coordinator and legislative analyst. She served in multiple positions at the California Department of Parks and Recreation from 2000 to 2005, including associate governmental program analyst, legislative analyst and staff services analyst. Timothy Gorsuch, 48, of Folsom, has been appointed chief deputy director at the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, where he has served in multiple positions since 1993, including acting assistant director, deputy division chief, legislative officer, district administrator, investigator and supervising investigator. Gorsuch was a major-battalion executive officer in the California Army National Guard from 1983 to 2004. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $126,588. Gorsuch is a Republican.
