SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments: First, Tina Andolina, 36, of Davis, has been appointed director of legislation and regulation at the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.
Andolina has served as legislative consultant for Senator Lois Wolk since 2010 and was legislative director at the Planning and Conservation League from 2007 to 2010. She was campaign associate at the Coalition for Clean Air from 2005 to 2007, outreach director at the California Wilderness Coalition from 2000 to 2005 and campaign director at the Friends of the Trinity River from 1997 to 2000. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $85,008. Andolina is a Democrat.
Nolice Edwards, 55, of Sacramento, has been appointed deputy assistant secretary of external communications for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Edwards served as chief of staff at the Service Employees International Union, Local 1000 from 2010 to 2012 and as chief of staff in the Office of Assembly Speaker Karen Bass from 2004 to 2010. She was a legislative advocate at Aaron Read and Associates LLC from 2003 to 2004, a deputy legislative secretary in the Office of Governor Gray Davis from 1999 to 2003, chief of staff in the Office of Assemblymember Carl Washington from 1996 to 1999 and chief of staff in the Office of Assemblymember Diane Martinez from 1993 to 1996. She worked as a legislative advocate at the Peace Officers Research Association of California from 1983 to 1993. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $120,000. Lloyd Dixon, 56, of Culver City, has been appointed to the Baldwin Hills Conservancy, where he has served since 2008. Dixon has held multiple positions at RAND Corporation since 1989, including senior economist, economist and associate economist. He is a member of the Culver City Proposition EE Oversight Committee, Culver City High School Boosters Club and the Western Economics Association International. Jacquelyn Dupont-Walker, 66, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the Baldwin Hills Conservancy. Dupont-Walker has been president at the Ward Economic Development Corporation since 1987. She was project manager at Rebuild LA from 1992 to 1994 and president at Walker Enterprise from 1985 to 1988. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Dupont-Walker is a Democrat.
Yolanda Gorman, 55, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the Baldwin Hills Conservancy. Gorman has held multiple positions at Phillips Graduate Institute since 2005, including president, dean of academic affairs and core faculty. She was president and chief executive officer at Brilliance Strategies Inc. from 2004 to 2010 and president and chief executive officer at Nunn Consulting Inc. from 1997 to 2004. Gorman was director of development and a lecturer for the College of Health and Human Development at California State University, Fullerton from 1985 to 1988. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree and Doctor of Education degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. G. Allan Kingston, 77, of Culver City, has been appointed to the Baldwin Hills Conservancy, where he has served since 2008. He was president and chief executive officer at the Century Housing Corporation from 1995 to 2007 and executive director at the California Century Freeway Housing Program from 1989 to 1995. Kingston was chairman at the National Housing Conference from 2003 to 2006 and has been a board member since 1995. He is a member of Shelter Partnership Inc., National Community Renaissance Corporation, California Housing Consortium and the National Alliance to End Homelessness.
