California Board of AccountancySACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — The California Board of Accountancy (CBA) has announced the reappointment of Leslie J. LaManna, CPA, to the CBA, and the appointment of three new members: Jose A. Campos, CPA, of Glendale; Scott Harris, Esq., of Los Angeles; and Katrina Salazar, CPA, of Sacramento. Ms. LaManna, who has served on the CBA since her appointment in 2007, was elected as President of the CBA in November 2012. Her reappointment and the three new appointments were announced December 14, 2012 by Governor Jerry Brown.The CBA consists of eight public members and seven members who are Certified Public Accountants.

Ms. LaManna, of San Diego, has been a partner and certified public accountant at LaManna and LaManna CPA since 2009. She was a partner with Withers Mann and LaManna LLP from 2000 to 2009 and an adjunct professor at the University of California, San Diego Extension from 1995 to 2002. LaManna served as a partner with LaManna and Associates CPAs from 1990 to 1999 and an assistant controller for National Medical Computer Services from 1989 to 2000.This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. LaManna is a Republican.

Jose A. Campos, CPA, of Glendale, has served in multiple positions at Deloitte and Touche LLP since 1991, including partner, senior manager, manager, senior accountant and staff. He is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting.This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Campos is a Democrat.

Scott Harris, Esq., of Los Angeles, has been an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School since 2012 and an attorney and principal at S J Harris Law since 2010. He was deputy attorney general at the California Department of Justice from 2006 to 2010 and the director of business affairs at Gorilla Nation Media in 2005.This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Harris is a Democrat.

Katrina Salazar, CPA, of Sacramento, has served as chief financial officer at the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges since 2010 and has been an adjunct accounting professor with the Los Rios Community College District since 2007. She was an accountant for KL Salazar Company from 2007 to 2010, senior audit manager at Reznick Group PC from 2003 to 2007, a chief financial officer at the American Red Cross from 2002 to 2003 and a financial analyst with Sutter Health from 2001 to 2002. She held multiple positions at Time Warner Inc. from 1997 to 2000, including financial manager and financial analyst and was a staff and senior accountant at Reznick Group PC from 1994 to 1997. Salazar earned a Master of Business Administration degree at Drexel University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Salazar is a Democrat.

Created by statute in 1901, the CBA’s mandate requires that protection of the public shall be its highest priority in exercising licensing, regulatory, and disciplinary functions. The CBA currently regulates more than 85,000 licensees, the largest group of licensed accounting professionals in the nation, including individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
