Hyde Park Homes Tour 2014 Showcases Century-Old Homes in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. /eNewsChannels/ -- NEWS: Nine historic homes, including unique Kansas City shirtwaists and stately stone Foursquares, will open their doors for tours during the biennial Hyde Park Historic Homes Tour. The tour also features a home that exemplifies how modern architecture can co-exist in a historic neighborhood. The Tour, hosted by The Hyde Park Neighborhood Association (HPNA), will be held October 4 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

TRENTON, N.J. /eNewsChannels/ -- NEWS: Franklyn Spiezle, the Founder of Spiezle Architectural Group, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, peacefully at the age of 89 on his 64th wedding anniversary. Born in Trenton, N.J. in 1924, Franklyn was a veteran of World War II serving in Europe at the rank of sergeant in the U.S. Air Corps. Upon returning to the U.S., he completed his degree in architecture at the University of Pennsylvania.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. /eNewsChannels/ -- NEWS: The Cambridge Historical Commission has recognized the exterior restoration of Christ Church Cambridge, built in 1761, with a 2013 Historic Preservation Award. Charlie Allen Restorations, located at 91 River Street in Cambridge, oversaw the restoration. Frank Shirley was the project architect; Masterworks Painting painted the building.
