BATON ROUGE, La. — A corporate sales expert turned entrepreneur with a passion for fitness and a designer’s flare for style, Erin Douglass is expanding her 2007 Pilates clothing brand, we pilates (www.wepilates.com). This clothing line expresses Ms. Douglass’ love for style and fitness in a distinctive lifestyle line that takes women from their Pilates or Yoga practice to their other normal daily activities.
Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the we pilates clothing line is designed with an eye for details in quality and comfort. Much care has been taken to ensure each piece is functional during any workout and stylish enough to be worn outside the Pilates or Yoga studio. The expanded debut line consists of new cuts and missy sizes in tanks, tees, and pants; each designed by we pilates owner, Ms. Douglass.
By leveraging business experience from her career at a large Enterprise Software company and inspiration from her own practice of Pilates and Yoga, Ms. Douglass began her journey into entrepreneurship by seizing an opportunity to build her own business from the ground up in 2006. As a result of pursuing a more balanced and sustainable lifestyle that would afford her more time with her family, Ms. Douglass found a way to realize an outlet for her creative passion for design in the form of a Pilates and Yoga clothing line that is of high quality, affordably priced, and stylish.
Servicing a demographic demand that stretches from 15-23 year old ballet dancers to 24-60 year old active lifestylers, Ms. Douglass presents a clothing line that is versatile and accommodating. “You don’t have to be a Pilates or Yoga student, practitioner, or instructor to look and feel good in our clothing”, said Ms. Douglass. “Our fabrics, color palette, and styles are designed to fit any active lifestyle. Since people with a variety of body shapes now engage in Pilates, I believe everyone deserves to find something that inspires them to work out”.
Ms. Douglass is founder and owner of we pilates and has been a Pilates and Yoga practitioner for ten years. A graduate of Pine Manor College in Massachusetts, she holds a BA degree in Business Management along with experience in fitness and fashion retail management.
