LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The numbers for foreclosure filings for the first half of 2009 are being released and ForeclosureDeals.com is on top of them. Many of the same states continue to top the list with the greatest number of foreclosure filings. For the first half of 2009, the top 10 were: Nevada, Arizona, California, Utah, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, Texas and Virginia.
There are several factors that continue to contribute to the growing number of foreclosed homes. For instance, data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that the country’s unemployment rate was 9.5 from May to June, representing a 3.9 percent rise from the previous year. And, upside-down mortgages continue to plague many homeowners as well.
