The Southeast’s leader in pre-manufactured staircase systems strengthens market-penetration by purchasing respected stair parts manufacturer

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Southern Staircase, a leading manufacturer of pre-assembled staircase systems, recently announced the purchase of Stair Parts, Incorporated, or SPI, of Adairsville, Ga. SPI manufactures wooden staircase components such as newels, balusters and stair treads. The sale was announced on May 10th.

“The purchase of SPI strengthens our company in many ways,” said Paul Miro, CEO of Southern Staircase. “Our product line will expand greatly as we add SPI’s product to our assortment, allowing our customers to have a greater variety of stock wood species and custom parts capabilities.”

“Additionally,” Miro said, “SPI is now able to offer their customers complete staircase system solutions, commodity stair parts, in addition to their custom stair parts line.”

Founded in 1978, SPI sells their products through nationwide distribution channels, primarily to stair builders, millwork companies, home centers and lumber yards. Their customer base is strongest in the Northeast and Midwest markets.

Southern Staircase Southern Staircase was founded in 1983 and manufactures curved, straight and spiral staircase systems for builders and homeowners throughout the Southeast.

Headquartered in Alpharetta, GA, Southern Staircase has four manufacturing facilities and five sales offices throughout Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
