DALLAS, Texas -- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) have stepped up enforcement to reduce undeclared and illegal hazmat shipments via airline, truck, rail, and ship. Undeclared shipments of hazardous materials are predominately aerosols and flammable liquids (e.g., paint and paint-related materials), as well as batteries, fireworks, dry ice, perfume products, and cigarette lighters.
