AUSTIN, Tex. — Perception Software today announced the addition of National Instruments to its customer list. National Instruments plans to deploy Perception Software’s EDAConnect, a software solution that gives electronic design engineers an intuitive, easy to use connection from their electronic design automation (EDA) environment to their enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.

“EDAConnect will help us to better automate the synchronization of our schematic and Agile bills of materials,” said Tim Dehne, senior vice president of R&D at NI. “We also expect to see more part attribute data being driven from Agile into our ECAD library tool.”

EDAConnect provides a seamless integration for systems design tools from Cadence and Mentor Graphics to PLM environments such as Agile. Within their familiar design environment, engineers using EDAConnect can perform design check-in and check-out, design archiving and searching, bill of materials extractions and comparisons, bill of material publishing, design file viewing from various authoring tools, and library synchronization.

“We are very proud to have been selected by National Instruments to help them improve their design cycle,” said Joe Dalton, Perception Software CEO. “We look forward to working closely with National Instruments to build additional functionality into EDAConnect.”
