SANTA CLARA, Calif. — SecuGen is pleased to announce the immediate availability of its newest OEM fingerprint sensor module, the SDA03M. The SDA03M features a large storage capacity of 3,000 users and will perform a fast one-to-many identification in an average of 0.2 seconds at full capacity. The SDA03M also has an impressive 460,800 bps data transfer rate. In the fourth quarter of this year a second version of firmware will be made available with a capacity of 32,000 users for one-to-one matching only.

secugenBoth versions of the new SecuGen SDA03M will cost $79 for a single unit and is priced very economically in higher volumes. The SDA03M is a complete standalone fingerprint recognition system that can read, register, store and match fingerprints. With a rugged optic module and biometric algorithms embedded in a processing unit, the SDA03M is designed to be easily integrated into access control systems, door locks, attendance units and other OEM products that require a higher level of security and convenience.

“The combination of SecuGen’s well known optical fingerprint sensor with its precise image, hardened platen, and robust design along with the new SDA03M’s high performance and high capacity PCB offers a quantum leap for access control vendors,” stated Dan Riley, VP of Engineering for SecuGen. “This new product allows for the creation of access control units with extraordinary capabilities at the low price points required for high volume sales.”

Won Lee, SecuGen’s CEO added, “We have always focused our efforts on providing our OEM partners with state of the art components at a low cost. With the SDA03M we believe that once again we have achieved this goal. ”

The SDA03M will be demonstrated at SecuGen’s booth # 517 at the ASIS 2008 Annual Seminar & Exhibits in Atlanta, Georgia from September 15 – 17, 2008.
