NEWS: (SANTA CLARA, Calif.) SecuGen Corporation, a world leading optical fingerprint device and technology vendor, is pleased to announce that the ultra-low cost Hamster Pro(TM) and UPx OEM fingerprint sensor for 2016 are now available for purchase.
SecuGen will be demonstrating both the Hamster Pro and UPx at the ISC West conference at the Las Vegas Sands Convention Center from April 6 – 8, 2016 in booth #12133.
The Hamster Pro and the UPx sensor featured inside the Hamster Pro are compact, accurate, and robust fingerprint readers that are offered at an incredibly low price. SecuGen is well known around the world and throughout the biometrics industry for providing high quality fingerprint products at prices suitable for large deployments. The Hamster Pro is SecuGen’s lowest price fingerprint reader to date.
The UPx is the USB fingerprint sensor for OEMs that is contained inside of the Hamster Pro. Like the rest of SecuGen’s fingerprint sensors, the UPx is a robust unit that is designed to capture accurate, high contrast images. This new OEM sensor is compact for easy integration and very low priced for large deployments as well.
SecuGen’s complete line of fingerprint readers include ultra-compact FBI-certified models for PIV and FAP 20 compliance. With the new Hamster Pro and UPx sensor, SecuGen now offers the same ultra-compact form-factor at very low cost for circumstances where FBI certification is not required. SecuGen’s product line also includes dual mode products that combine contact and contactless smart card readers together with SecuGen’s rugged and accurate fingerprint sensors.
“These new products are truly remarkable in terms of their quality at such a low price point,” stated Dan Riley, SecuGen’s VP of Engineering. “The SecuGen engineering team keeps coming up with new ways to reduce costs. The Hamster Pro fingerprint reader and UPx sensor combine the ability to capture a high contrast, high quality image at rock bottom prices. These truly are amazing products!”
Won Lee, CEO of SecuGen, said, “SecuGen continues to focus relentlessly on delivering high quality products and tools that our reseller partners require. Our engineering team had done it again with the UPx sensor and the Hamster Pro. We have created these products in direct response to the requests of our partners.”
The Hamster Pro fingerprint reader and the companion UPx OEM sensor are available for purchase immediately. These new products currently support Windows. Within the next several weeks, SDKs and drivers for Linux and Android will be made available.
SecuGen will be demonstrating both the Hamster Pro and UPx at the ISC West conference at the Las Vegas Sands Convention Center from April 6 – 8, 2016 in booth #12133.
