LONDON, U.K. — The Internet Content production-company known as the Content Lab launch four, audio city guides for tourists visiting Europe. SoundGuides (www.sound-guides.com) provide the tourist with a complete solution for exploring Rome, Paris, London and Venice. Each audio guide can be downloaded on to an ipod or mobile phone and serves to replace the need for guidebooks completely. This allows the tourist free reign to design their own tour of these amazing cities.

The guides are much more down to earth and much more enthusiastic than traditional guides. The tone is friendly and informal yet the content is information rich. A mixture of humour and sound advice makes the listener feel like they have a friend in the city.

SoundGuides Product Developer Gary Shove stated, “I had the idea for SoundGuides when I took my family to Rome. I realised it takes a lot of imagination to really engage with the place and I thought how great it would be if you could augment your imaginings with a soundtrack. Now you can get a Soundguide and stand in the Colloseum and really hear the crowds roar and the gladiators clash. It’s an amazing feeling.”

SoundGuides are designed to make culture, art and history accessible and entertaining specifically so that the tourist can have a much more engaging experience of their vacation than simply getting the obligatory family snaps in front of the Eiffel Tower.

The kids even get their own tailor made guides. SoundGuides Pioneers Rome and SoundGuides Pioneers London are made for 9-11 year olds. The Pioneers guides encourage the young ones to think about their environment and talk to their parents about it. They are, beyond doubt, the first audio city guides for children to be made.
