SEATTLE, Wash. — Alfa Tec Inc., a 14-year-old Seattle-based marine sales and service distributor, has announced it will open a second location in Tampa, Florida, by June 2007. “This will allow us to offer expanded operations to cover the East Coast and Gulf Coast regions,” says Kevin Oakley, President. Alfa Tec was founded in 1993 as Alfa Laval Inc.’s exclusive distributor to the marine industry on the West Coast and in Alaska. Alfa Laval is the leading global provider of specialized products and engineered solutions. Their equipment, systems and services are dedicated to helping customers optimize the performance of their processes.

Alfa Tec’s sales and services currently cover the marine, power, fish-processing, food, thermal, industrial and oilfield markets. The second location will feature expanded service capabilities for centrifuges, watermakers, heat exchangers, oily water separators, Omnipure MSD Systems and pumps.

The move came with the support of many customers who have done business with Alfa Tec on the West Coast over the past decade. These customers include KC Transportation, Crowley Marine, Holland America Lines, Seacoast LLC, and OSG. “Alfa Tec’s team of trained and dedicated professionals are an integral part of our marine repair support chain from California to the remote villages of Alaska,” says Mike Magill, Vice President of Seacoast LLC. “Their ability to respond twenty four hours a day, seven days a week and solve problems continues to contribute to our success and the success of our customers.”

Kevin Oakley “We support all of our products with dependable, professional and factory-trained authorized service technicians,” states Oakley. “Our service staff is on call 24/7 to eliminate customer downtime.” Oakley states that since many of Alfa Tec’s customers have contracts for preventative maintenance, “downtime becomes scheduled maintenance instead of unexpected surprises.” He adds that, “One of the benefits of our maintenance programs is the reduced labor rates and discounts on parts that come with a 12-month service contract.”

Whether a customer needs service, engineering, parts, or equipment, Alfa Tec stands ready to assist.

In addition to the Alfa Laval line, Alfa Tec Inc. has added several other complimentary quality product lines.

Currently, the company is the authorized sales and service center for the following original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s):

    * Alfa Laval
    * Severn Trent Danora
    * Ampco Pumps
    * Sigma Oily Water Separators
    * Offshore Marine Labs
    * Atlas Copco Air Compressors
    * Byron Jackson Pumps
    * Baldor Motors
    * Brook Crompton Motors

Twenty-four-hour service is provided for the above lines and their components.

In addition to the above pump and motor related products, Alfa Tec also offers a coating division, Alfa Tec Coatings. This division is the stocking distributor for Jotun Paints in the Pacific Northwest and a recognized dealer and applicator of Belzona Coatings.

Over the years, Alfa Tec has become involved with many different kinds of clientele and services, but has always been conscious of environmental impact issues facing marine trade. Alfa Tec has started to work with their customers on issues such as waste management and compliance strategies. Mr. Oakley will be a guest panelist at the Clean Pacific Conference in Seattle this September to answer questions.
