HOUSTON, Texas — Today Financial Softworks, LLC announced the release of DashBook 1.0, Microsoft(R) Windows based software, expressly designed for small and medium sized publishers. According to founder Gregory Carrier, “DashBook is focused on the idiosyncrasies of selling books.”
DashBook provides both front and back office functionality for publishers’ needs. Specifically, publishers can use DashBook for orders, invoices, payments, returns, product inventory, contacts, royalties, and reports. DashBook also allows users to customize their reports with an integrated report writing tool. Finally, as an “open system,” DashBook data may be imported and exported to external sources.
Of particular interest to publishers, DashBook delivers the ability to calculate royalties automatically, to record royalty distributions, and to generate detailed royalty reports, as well as royalty summaries. In addition, DashBook includes the functionality to tie returns to specific orders, which enables detailed tracking of customer activity. DashBook also includes the “dashboard,” a unique feature that provides publishers with an immediate snapshot of their business, allowing them to see where they are headed at all times.
Barry Gibbons of The MT Pit is already convinced. “DashBook is what we’ve been looking for… efficient, affordable software with tech support that actually has a pulse. We’re sold!”
DashBook is available for download at http://www.dashbook.com; the price per simultaneous user is $249 (US).
