POWAY, Calif. — Intelligent Automation Corporation (IAC), a proven leader in aircraft Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS), has been awarded a contract in conjunction with the U.S. Army’s Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center Prototype Integration Facility and Joint Venture Yulista and SES (JVYS) to integrate its just introduced SuperHUMS(TM) technology onboard the U.S. Army’s RQ-7A/B Shadow 200 Tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems (TUAS).

The U.S. Army’s Aviation and Missile Command Redstone Arsenal awarded this contract to IAC to help reduce maintenance, support, and turnaround time by directly linking aircraft health status to ground maintenance personnel. IAC will design, develop, manufacture, and field the IAC 1474 SuperHUMS(TM), a patent pending, field programmable gate array-based (FPGA), reconfigurable computing technology.

According to IAC Chief Executive Officer Jeff Goodrich, “IAC is pleased to enter into this new partnership with the U.S. Army. The U.S. Army’s Shadow unmanned aircraft system is considered a “must have” system by the soldiers who rely on it. By investing in IAC’s SuperHUMS(TM), an advanced aviation diagnostics technology, the U.S. Army will likely maximize this valuable aircraft’s availability. The demonstrated ability of IAC’s conditions-based maintenance systems to significantly reduce aircraft operating costs while improving readiness and safety is a key discriminator and represents significant market potential within the growing unmanned vehicle market.”

IAC The IAC-1474 SuperHUMS(TM) is a revolutionary advancement in diagnostic technology for aircraft condition based maintenance (CBM) applications. Featuring next generation system-on-chip technology, SuperHUMS(TM) offers faster than real time processing using the latest Virtex4 FPGA (field programmable gate arrays) and XTremeDSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology from XILINX Corporation. This pioneering new technology offers the highest performance machinery diagnostic and monitoring system on the market today. The IAC 1474 SuperHUMS(TM) is based on the highly successful, combat proven IAC 1209 Modern Signal Processing Unit (MSPU) selected by Bell Helicopter, Boeing and the U.

Intelligent Automation Corporation (IAC) is a machinery diagnostics company with a unique blend of research, systems engineering, manufacturing, and field support expertise. Our products and technology add value for our customers by applying easy-to-understand advanced technology solutions to complex problems that increase machinery availability, reduce operating costs, and improve safety.
