MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — HotGigs Inc., an innovator in web-based staffing solutions, has upgraded its online staffing exchange HotGigs.com, adding new tools and capabilities, such as the ability to compare billable hourly rates for a large variety of consulting professions.

HotGigs.com provides a real-time online marketplace to help North American employers and staffing firms efficiently outsource to North American workers. The release of the new site coincides with HotGigs’ 2007 growth strategy, following on the company’s landmark achievement of registering its 50,000th consultant, listing more than $500 million in billable contract opportunities from North American companies and staffing firms.

HotGigs has extended its highly regarded bill rate comparison tool to the public, making it available to any visitor on the site. The tool allows users to compare the rates paid for contractors with desired skills and experience levels.

The redesigned and easier to use HotGigs.com provides separate portals for each of the exchange’s three distinct audiences – consultants, hiring companies and staffing firms. Each portal features Web 2.0 enhancements such as RSS content syndication, blogs, social networking, data on skills in demand and automated agents for marketing contractor opportunities and resources across 17 workforce categories, including IT, healthcare, HR, creative, marketing, accounting, financial and administrative.

Consultants and contractors who join the HotGigs.com exchange can market their services to more than 19,000 companies and staffing firms, and broadcast their availability for new projects to previous and potential clients. They can include ratings from past employers, customized search agents, peer networking tools, and one-click contact between employers and contractors.

HotGigs has also launched informational blogs to help exchange members better manage the staffing process. Noted authors contribute to HotGigs.com’s blogs, among them highly respected executive search and organizational consulting authority Lou Adler and contingent workforce industry expert Elaine Taylor of iLogos Research.

“We’re helping highly skilled professionals build, manage and grow their consulting businesses while taking the pain out of the process of recruiting and managing contingent workers,” said HotGigs co-founder and CEO Doug Berg. “The new site adds tremendous value in the way they do business with one another.”
