JAMAICA, Vt. — Jamaica Cottage Shop, Inc. announced today that it will be offering its wooden post and beam shed kits to retailers nationwide as part of a new wholesale program. The program is designed to make their New England style buildings more readily available to consumers outside the northeast.

“We are looking for dealers who want to increase their sales by offering high quality sheds but also for companies who want to make our shed kits a part of their overall product line,” says Domenic Mangano, owner and senior designer. “This would include not only shed retailers, but also landscapers, fence companies, and building material suppliers.”

The kits can be retailed in three ways. They can be delivered in the pre-packaged cube form straight to the consumer to put together as a do it yourself project, or the sheds can be assembled, either at the consumer location or at the retailer’s own facility, then transported and delivered fully assembled.

Made from native Vermont hemlock and pine lumber, the post and beam cottage kits are made with the non carpenter in mind and include a set of step by step plans. Each pre-cut piece is color coded and labeled with a part number.

Some of Jamaica Cottage Shop’s most popular designs include the 8×12 Dollhouse, an 8×12 saltbox shed known as the Church Street, and the 16×20 Vermont Cottage, a one room cabin with a porch and large loft. All designs are rugged, most with board and batten siding and painted metal roofs.

Plans to unveil new two bay garage designs are in the works. Jamaica Cottage Shop has been building garden sheds from rough sawn lumber since 1995.
