WASHINGTON, D.C. /eNewsChannels/ — Ambassador Elizabeth Frawley Bagley, Special Representative for Global Partnerships, will host a reception at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010, in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the Department of State.

The Department of State welcomes Google, NASA, Yahoo!, Microsoft, & the World Bank along with SecondMuse and Crisis Commons in support of the Random Hacks of Kindness Hacking for Humanity “Codejam.” Vint Cerf, commonly credited as the father of the internet, will be the keynote speaker.

Founded by The World Bank, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo!, and NASA, the Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK) initiative organizes “codejams” (48 hours of programming to solve a disaster response issue through technology), bringing the brightest minds together to solve real world problems related to crises and disaster relief. The technology created at these events is openly shared with the international community and continually developed in support of disaster relief efforts.
