Washington, DC /eNewsChannels/ — U.S. Trade Rep. Ron Kirk will join Mexican officials in a ceremony commemorating the opening of the Anzalduas International Bridge in Reynosa, Mexico, on Monday, Jan. 11. The Anzalduas International Bridge connects the cities of McAllen, Texas, and Reynosa, Mexico. In December, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. General Services Administration opened the Anzalduas Land Port of Entry in McAllen – the first LEED-certified green land port of entry on the Southern Border and the first new Land Port of Entry on the Southern Border in 10 years.

Also attending the event will be the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Carlos Pascual, U.S. General Services Administration Acting Administrator Stephen Leeds, and U.S. Consul General Michael Barkin, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Executive Director for Mission Support David Morrell.
