WASHINGTON, D.C. /eNewsChannels/ — The International Security Advisory Board (ISAB) has completed a report entitled Mutual Assured Stability: Essential Components and Near Term Actions. The report analyzes a wide range of issues related to strategic deterrence and the path to a world of mutual assured stability, including essential steps toward a world without nuclear weapons.
The ISAB is a federal advisory committee to the U.S. Department of State that provides independent insight and advice on scientific, technical, and policy aspects of arms control, disarmament, proliferation, international security, and related aspects of public diplomacy. The duties of the ISAB are advisory only.
The Board is sponsored and overseen by the Acting Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security Rose Gottemoeller and provides its recommendations through Acting Under Secretary Gottemoeller to Secretary Clinton and the Department of State. Former Secretary of Defense Dr. William J. Perry serves as Chairman and Mr. Charles B. Curtis serves as Vice Chairman.
