NEWS: Three Four Seasons Compassion for Life volunteers were recently awarded for their exemplary service to hospice patients and families in the western region of North Carolina, including Jackson, Macon and Swain counties.

Jenny King received recogntion for “Most Hours Served;” Laura McBane, Whitter, was recognized for “Most Hats Worn,” due to her service in a range of capacities; and Perry Welch, Franklin, received the “Compassion Award,” for his work utilizing music in assisted living facilities.

“Four Seasons congratulates these volunteers and offers sincere gratitude. We are honored to serve patients and families at end of life, and we couldn’t fulfill our commitment without exceptional volunteers like these,” says Maureen Williams, director of Four Seasons’ western region office.

The awards were announced during the annual “Volunteer Awards Night” on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at Blue Ridge Community College, Flat Rock, and presented locally to volunteers.

“These persons were nominated to receive these awards by Four Seasons’ staff and volunteers,” says Jennifer Fox, volunteer coordinator. “Working with them inspires me personally, as well as the lives of the patients, families, volunteers and staff, who are positively impacted daily by their commitment.”

Recipients exhibit the values of Four Seasons: compassion, balance, respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence, and resilience, she says.
