NEWS: Heart Imaging Technologies (HeartIT) announced that CloudCMR has surpassed 25,000 de-identified Cardiac MRI (CMR) procedures and their associated, finalized, clinical reports. On September 8, 2015 HeartIT announced that CloudCMR had reached 10,000 studies. Now, less than two months later, the number of studies has more than doubled and now comprises nearly 15 terabytes of DICOM and reporting system data.
New subscribers to CloudCMR from around the world are submitting image and report data on a daily basis, contributing to the research and educational database. It’s anticipated that by the SCMR Annual Meeting in February of 2016, the database will contain more than 40,000 records.
Once the images and reports are stored on CloudCMR, members can designate who can access their de-identified clinical data, facilitating unprecedented multi-center collaboration and research projects. CloudCMR has the potential to dramatically improve the visibility and awareness of the cardiac MRI modality. Research that spans cities, regions, and even countries can now be conducted seamlessly via the CloudCMR solution, aiding in the submission of papers to national or international journals.
Dr. Robert Judd, President of Heart Imaging Technologies said, “CloudCMR changes the landscape in terms of multi-center research. In CloudCMR if a member grants you access to their data, not only can you search or mine your data, but you can search their data as well. You can find all of the patients who have an ejection fraction of less than 25 percent, have a prior infarct, and who also have a pacemaker. Our structured reports contain about 380 individual fields, so the Boolean search combinations are virtually endless. Most importantly, with the Cloud-based CMR workstation tools, you can validate the reported ejection fraction and other measurements within your browser without requiring any additional software.”
